Day 691 I am grateful standing my ground. There come situations where life wants to test our resolve. Our convictions get put up against pressure to change them and all we have are two choices. Give in or stand our ground. If we give in then our life will be nothing other than a rollercoaster that someone else has built. Going through ups and downs without any control as to when or how they happen. Standing our ground allows us to fight for the outcomes that we seek. Regardless of the pressure put upon us, we already know the answer and just have to keep standing until it happens. The last thing I wanted to do tonight was stop to help these kids. . I had a long day at work, barely made it to my basketball game only to get stomped by 30 and I took a massive Charlie horse and my whole right leg is in pain. . Leaving the gym I came across these kids totally stuck, no idea how to get out and freaking out a little. . I chose to stop while others drove by, honestly I really wanted to drive by too and 72 days ago I for sure would have. So no judgement. . It only took about 15 minutes to get them out of the snowbank. And man were they appreciative. It is incredibly humbling to have people you have never met hug you and be so full of pure appreciation. . Now I know this is coming across as a shitty humble brag. And to be honest I am proud I stopped. But I wanted to point to the lesson i have learned through #75hard that was completely solidified tonight. . When you do shit you don’t necessarily want to do it is actually the exact thing that will make you feel better, happier or more fulfilled. . My heart is full today because of the shit I didn’t want to do and that doing it brought so much relief and joy to these kids. DAY 75 of #75hard ✅ I’d like to thank my wife and family for being supportive, letting me do my thing and understanding why I pursued this goal for the past 75 days. - This challenge was not about me losing weight, although it was a by product of it. For me, this was retraining my brain and developing new habits. - And I enjoy these new habits. - Now it’s time to expand on these habits, create new ones, and execute. We’ve taken action. It’s now a work in progress and we find focus along the way. ⁣ ⁣ Conversely, if we go the other way, try to find focus then start doing, we’ve just created more work..⁣. ⁣ Let’s use little man as an example here... if we spend time crafting the perfect settings on the camera, then pick it up to take a picture of our subject, in this case Bowser & Bowser Jr., those settings aren’t going to be ideal for the position we’re in, so we have to re-focus again. ⁣ ⁣ Similarly, @ladysipp & I could have debated the best way to set ourselves for success when making a lifestyle change.⁣ We could have asked @andyfrisella, or the #75hard community. This is what 53 of continuous days of waking up at 4:30 or 5:30am to Crossfit, working out again outside in the rain 🌧 or cold or whatever the weather’s going to be, saying 🙅🏻‍♀️to my favorite things to eat like noodles 🍝 and cookies 🍪 and all desserts 🧁 tbh, drinking a GALLON of water, not drinking alcohol, and gaining powerful knowledge from books looks like. Was any of that easy? Hell no. Were there some long ass days? Yep. Some nights, I could barely keep my eyes open going on my late night walks or reading my last 10 pages of a book! My feet hurt. My body is tired. But guess what. Your body and your mind are more capable than YOU let it be. Am I happy?! Hell FUCKING yah! I wouldn’t trade the experience from following the #75Hard program for anything! Although my body is shaping up nicely, I didn’t start this program to change my physical appearance. To me, it’s a small win in comparison to the BIG WIN of shaping my mental fortitude, focus, and discipline. But I’m not done yet! Got 22 more days to go! @andyfrisella made a really good post today about the downfalls of being comfortable. . We as humans tend to gravitate towards what’s easy, what’s safe and what’s comfortable. We never push the boundaries of our own world but then get upset when our life doesn’t change and we stay exactly the same. . One of my big goals this year was to start roping. I knew how to rope and I have before but I wanted to actually be able to go to a jackpot or to a branding and be useful, not just a spectator. . Right around the same time my good friends @mikeyyy26 and @kaylaaa__kayyy began a roping night at a local arena. It would have been easy to say “I have too much going on with work, I’m too busy, or I’m not ready.” . But I put my big girl @cinchjeans jeans on and took my mare anyways. Now, I’m not saying I went and everything was fine right off the bat, but it wasn’t near as big a deal as I originally thought. And when they brought the heel-o-matic out, I got her in position and roped it. And gosh dang it, it was a pretty loop and catch. . What I’m trying to say is that you’re not ever going to change when you’re comfortable. It was way far out of comfort zone to even go to a roping night let alone rope in front of all of these experienced ropers. I made myself and I had a great time. . Get out of that comfort zone and push your limits. Who knows what happen.

People who don’t support the self-improvement of others bewilder me. if you see someone busting their ass doing everything possible to improve, how do you not support that? ⠀ Here’s the truth about people who dedicate themselves 100% to self-improvement.... ⠀ They’re often the loneliest, most misunderstood people in the room. While their friends are out drinking and having fun, they are usually studying new techniques, reading, listening to podcasts or hitting the gym. If they’re not doing one of those things it’s probably meal prep or calculating macronutrients. ⠀ People who devote themselves to this lifestyle are often seen as cocky or conceited. This couldn’t be further from the truth. At least in my case, I’m usually the most self-conscious person in the room. What a week can make when you track your macros, workout, and executing the plan daily. • With it being the first week of the #mytransphormationchallenge, this week has been off to a great start. • I’ve been tracking my macros, putting in 120% in all my workouts, completing all my tasks on Powerlists daily, and etc. • I lost two pounds this week and feels so good. By tracking what I eat and working out consistently this week, I was able to lose a couple of pounds and keep my strength up. • The next seven weeks are going to be intense and exciting. You can have variety or you can have results -- but you can't have both. . I was having a chat with someone recently and we got talking about the topic of variety when it comes to training. . People often hear the terms "muscle confusion", "shock your muscles" and that you have to "switch up your routine". . Wrong. . I don't want to "confuse" my muscles. I want them to know precisely what is required of them! . When it comes to strength training, the goal is to challenge your body and gain an adaptation. . This means, gearing your training towards a specific goal or outcome. . Your goal might be strength, hypertrophy (increase in muscle mass) or fat loss. . Regardless of the goal, the training you do should push you towards that goal. . So what about training variety and mixing things up? . Training should be fun and enjoyable -- but it should also yield results. . You get good at what you practice. . If you consistently chop and change your exercises up, you're not getting good -- or better -- at anything. . You're merely switching up your routine... . ...and this doesn't produce results. . Now, let's take a smarter approach. . Let's say you train three days/week and you perform the same movements, using progressive overload. . Performing a few additional reps, lifting more weight, using overload techniques and/or doing it while more fatigued. . That is a winning strategy! . Your body now knows what it is trying to do, and will adapt accordingly. . It will become stronger, more efficient and you will drop body fat because of it. . You can have variation or you can have results. . But you can't have both. . What's it going to be?

Perfect practice makes perfect . . That’s something my first travel softball coach engrained in us and I’ve always carried it w me. You can’t just go through the motions. You have to practice like it’s the real deal and practice until you can’t mess up . . Posing is such an important aspect of bodybuilding. You could have the best physique up there but if you can’t present it to the judges, then it don’t mean crap. . . I need to practice in heels more, but it’s still always good to keep practicing year round. The more comfortable in your routine you are, the more confidence you’ll have on stage . . I might not be “prepping”, but I’m always mentally prepping and physically prepping for the next time I’m on stage. Day 22 of Phase 2 of #LiveHard. 🏀 Today was an out of my routine day in the best way possible. 🏀 Went for a 30 min run with Mrs Bacon to get the day started. Finished it up with a 15 minute walk. 🏀 Typically I would go lift for 45 minutes immediately after, but I recently started playing pick up hoops on Friday evenings so that was my second workout of the day. 🏀 Basketball has been such a blessing in my life. It’s equal parts fun, fitness, and therapy. 🏀 I could just kick it in the gym and shoot all day. 🏀 Sometimes I day dream about if I was stuck on an island what is one thing I’d bring with me? 🏀 I’d choose a basketball. I’d always be entertained. 🏀 Here’s to doing more things you love doing

Build your posterior chain # I have always been told by some very strong and knowledgeable people that if you want to know how strong/knowledgeable someone is watch them walk away and look at their back. # True strength comes from your posterior chain and developing that base to build on. # Wide backs, traps, shoulders pulled back, muscular butts are all signs that someone can move some weight and have spent some serious time in the gym. # People love to train the “show me” muscles (biceps, chest, etc) and look absolutely ridiculous when that is all you train. # People trained by me will tell you I put a huge emphasis on back muscles and making sure everything on your backside are being worked. # Snatch high pulls(video) are a great, explosive, athletic movement that will built a seriously strong upper back and build a nice set of traps #100to0 #barndoorback #upperbackworkout #backworkout #posteriorchain #back #olympicweightlifting #strong #strongereveryday #athletic #athletics #crosstraining #barbell #barbellworkout
