#lockdown2020 Day 9 Palak paneer + Ghee rice (The flavoured rice is #onepot pressure cooked) Palak paneer : Blanch 2 tomatoes + a bunch of spinach leaves (use the stalk too ) Cool and blend into puree. Sautee 1/2 cup chopped onions. Add the palak puree , turmeric, red chilli powder and salt. Simmer and cook for 4-5 mins. Add diced paneer and garam masala (optional) Simmer for 2 mins. Serve with chapati / rice. Ghee rice: Heat a little ghee in pressure pan. Add jeera seeds. Add chopped fresh coriander or kasuri methi (whichever is available) Mix in turmeric, coriander powders and salt. Add the rice and required amount of water. Is it possible to 💗love💗 but leave out our baggage? 💭Picture this- Two people enter into a relationship bringing with them both carry on luggage and that which they've checked in. . . The carry on luggage is their past issues, trauma and pain is that which they actively shared with their partner. . . The checked-in luggage is the baggage that becomes apparent after time. Through trust, through building of the relationship but also through arguments and trigger points in the relationship, this baggage shows up. . . We all have both types of baggage. . . Some of those things we want so desperately to be seen. Some of those things we hide. . . Relationships will always bring up these issues. The difference between couples who point the finger at each other and bond through cycles of pain and reconciliation (trauma bonding) and couples who grow through their tests and become in sync with each other is not just because "they're meant to be". . . 💫The difference is that they have are conscious of themselves and have self awareness. They are aware of the parts of themselves that need healing and do the work on themselves. They are also able to see their partner with greater acceptance and observe that they too have their own journey of healing. 💫 . . So they grow on that journey walking side by side but looking first inward for healing. . . And they are also able to part with that which no longer serves them and their healing. . . EMF. Electromagnetic Frequency. It’s a real thing, and if you have #moldexposure or #lymedisease, you are most likely extra sensitive to it. With all this time indoors and attached to our cell phones and computers (Tiger King isn’t going to watch itself!), you may be feeling the effects even more.⁣ ⁣ A Swiss mold researcher conducted a simple experiment in which he exposed molds to a Wi-Fi router. The production of mycotoxins was dramatically increased by the energetic frequencies, and the virulence of the toxins increased 600-fold - meaning the mold both multiplied and grew in it’s harmfulness. When exposed to electromagnetic radiation, the mold tries to protect itself by throwing out more mycotoxins, and more poison. This could mean a huge trigger in symptoms and an increase in exposure. ⁣Basically, the mold is Ramona on The Real Housewives of NYC and the EMF is Pinot Grigio. ⁣⁣ ⁣ Best way to deal? Credit to respected owner Sometimes to move forward, you have to look back! .......... I worked so hard to look my best for the slimmer of the year weekend and after it was all over, felt a little routine relaxation was deserved! At times, I think that we tend to place happiness on a pedestal, as if it is a prize reserved for only the chosen ones. Just google books on ‘happiness’ and you will see just how many of us are chasing it. But what is it that we are really looking for? What is happiness to you? Maybe happiness isn’t as elusive as we may think; maybe it is available to everyone. Even now. Could it be about the simplest of life’s pleasures? Or those moments we live for—of warmth, connection, unconditional love and kindness. During these times I have had the opportunity to recognise and appreciate these little things. When I am old and looking back on my life (if I’m so lucky) I want to be abundant in memories—to have gone out, seen the world, and lived every moment that this life could give (all the things that don’t seem possible right now). I want to be affluent in memories of sunrises on beaches, yoga and meditation classes, family dinners, studying the worlds philosophies, learning anything, sunsets on my balcony, genuine love, being of service, endless laugher, sunshine on rainy days, and close friends and family. This is pure happiness, and these are the moments we live for. But right now I’m living for the simple things like beautiful cups of tea, music, being with my animals and husband, face timing loved ones, online classes, my sessions with my clients and connecting in this space with so many. Kali-sulph tissue salts for the third stage of infection, to clear yellow, thick mucous, to heal the skin and clear mucous membranes.  It aids in the internal respiratory process of the body. Back Goji Berry Cherry Oatmeal Bowl🍒 ✨ I looove adding @unicornsuperfoods into my oatmeal or smoothies. This combo was extra delicious So here is the recipe for you 👇 Ingredients : 1 cup of rolled oats 1 cup of plant mylk 1 cup of frozen / fresh pitted cherries 1 tbsp of cashew butter 1 tbsp of toasted coconut 1 tbsp of maple syrup 1 tbsp of Goji blend @unicornsuperfoods Method : 1. 5 Biggest No No’s For Acne 1.) Stress We know, a little hard not to stress when you may already be breaking out! But unfortunately, when stress levels are high, our friend cortisol increases as well. Cortisol can cause inflammation and sebum production in the skin, which in turn can worsen or cause acne. Also, chronic stress can lower production of hydrochloric acid in the body, which leads to poor digestion, and as said on our other posts digestion plays a huge role in acne. A great way to lower stress is to not procrastinate! Do all the hard stuff early in the morning, that way when the evening comes you can relax and decompress. Or simply find time to exercise and do things you enjoy. 2.) Lack of Sleep We all have morning routines, and we all need to start incorporating a night one as well. Our skin is just like the rest of our body, it has the same circadian rhythm and night time is prime time for your skin to repair and rebuild. Also, adequate amounts of sleep lower cortisol and keep it in check, which also keeps our hormones in check. Disruptions in sleep patterns can do the exact opposite, it will cause inflammation in the skin, and your skin will not have adequate time in the night to heal itself. Meaning, your break out will get worse, or will last longer. The best way to get better sleep is to not wait until the minute you should be asleep to turn off electronics and lights. Several hours before dim your lights, use Himalayan salt lamps, or use blue light blocking glasses. You may also want to put that little device that creates blue light cough* your cellphone cough* away once you hit the sheets! 3.) High Glycemic Index Foods What is the glycemic index you ask? Well it refers to the effect a food has on your body’s blood sugar levels. Glycemic index ranks food on a scale of 1-100, 1 being low and 100 being high. That number describes how quickly the carbohydrate in the food is broken down and absorbed into the bloodstream. The higher the rise in glucose (sugar) in the blood stream the more insulin is produced to store it. And you guessed it, higher insulin can result in inflammation. You seeing the trend here? You don’t need weights. Weights can’t do the work for you, they can actually create more damage than benefit if not used properly. As an instructor I see this all the time, people think the heavier the weight or load on the body the better the workout. I absolutely disagree. If you don’t know how to contract or engage the muscle group or area you’re wanting to “work” properly without added weight then adding weights to your workout is counterproductive. Why? when you add load to an exercise and aren’t able to stay in good alignment, stabilize the joint or activate the desired muscle group the exercise falls apart, it loses its integrity. Muscles that we don’t want to engage start to become involved, excess tension builds up on areas we aren’t intentionally working, muscles that shouldn’t be the prime movers begin to act as them. Think about those shoulders that are constantly up in your ears or that lower back pain and knee ache you start to feel. Work instead first with your own body weight.
