My framework for staying busy involves 6 different categories.
You don’t have to do all 6 categories each week, but these are categories you can pull from next time you find yourself spending 6 hours on TikTok.
This includes your morning and bedtime routines. Spending extra time on each of these helps fill up your day WHILE working on your mental health! Double win!
This includes all the regular cleaning/ chores you need to do PLUS all those chores you’ve been putting off for months.
eg. Going through your closet, organizing your documents, go through your makeup, unsubscribe to junk mail, clean your light fixtures, delete old photos.
Includes any activity that addresses any of the 4 self-care pillars. The 4 pillars are mental, physical, emotional and spiritual.
Eg. Getting physical activity, seeing a virtual therapist, phone detoxes, journaling, meditation, manifestation.
This includes any projects, hobbies or simply fun activities. I recommend doing this at least 1x a day.
eg. Have a dance party, connect with a loved one, plan out your dream vacation, draw or colour, tackle a DIY project, have a movie marathon.
5️⃣ Skill Building
These are activities that are going to allow you to expand your skill set and learn something new!
eg. Learn calligraphy, start a blog, learn a new language, learn how to cook/ bake, take courses on Skillshare or Coursera, start a book club, learn photography/ videography, organize your finances.
6️⃣ Career Advancement
These are activities that you can work on that will help you advance your career.
eg. Update your resume, revamp your LinkedIn account, do an online certification, research job opportunities, network with people in your field, start a side hustle.
