Pivoting to the Total Tension Kettlebell program to stack some "meat on the bones". Time to turn that #quarentinetummy into something useful! Also, enjoy my pearly whites. And I'm not talking about my teeth! 🤣🤣🤣 . . . W1D1 Goal here is to ladder up close to a TRM, and back down. You can see I really had to fight for 5 presses and 4 on the way back down. I didn't let myself rest enough on the 3 back down so I had to attempt that three times to lock in that set. So note for next session is rest, rest, rest. 3 mins minimum. Got ahead of myself on one set and forgot to squat! HERESY! Added a rep following set. Full body tension and linkage awareness is the goal here for safe and strong movement! . . 24kg for the clean, press, squat, 32kg for the renegade row. 32kg for the 100 swings at the end. They need to remain snappy and powerful and I could feel myself losing steam around 75-80 with one handed. “The Gym In Your Hand.” It has been said that the kettlebell may be the most versatile training tool out there. I first picked up one of these “cannon balls with a handle” about 15 years ago. I fell in love with the instrument and the application immediately. I immersed myself in the bells and consumed anything I could related to the KB. I dropped every other training modality and strictly focused on getting better using this unique weight. I began training my clients with bells at a time when gyms were not keen on having kettlebells in their facilities. Something about liability or some BS, meanwhile Jonny Two times is over in the squat rack without spotters and quarter repping 4 wagon wheels on each side!? Anyways, I digress. I never wanted to be considered a “kettlebell only, “ but their effectiveness in certain applications has never been lost on me. Heck, the BIB logo has a bell in it! I’m glad I picked up and have continually honed the skills required to safely use and coach my clients in kettlebell training. It’s proving to be a HUGE advantage for us during these chaotic times where we are all getting forced to get back to basics and get creative. This is a space that I/we have been preparing for since 2005. It’s not too late if you have a bell, but are rusty on how to put it into play.
