I really miss being in the studio teaching and setting choreography. So for at least the next month, I am going to share Tate teaching moments that I don’t think that I have ever shared. It’s also entertaining to watch me try to move with the youngins. Get ready, there are some throwbacks! First up, it’s one of my sessions with Lacey setting one of her competition jazz solos in high school. It was my first time working with her privately. She was always great to work with and was so athletic! Enjoy! @laceyswanson_ 🎧: Lorde #teachingtuesday #dance #dancemovement #goodtimes #throwback

The answer is yes, if properly performed by an experienced, well-trained professional. Those under age 18 require the presence of a parent on the first consultation and written consent from a parent. . Consider the alternative. Shaving causes “shaving bumps” or ingrown hairs. Cream depilatories can cause chemical burns, and Waxing requires the hair to be grown out first-Which misses the whole point of hair removal. In contrast, Laser hair removal is safe No matter which areas are being treated, since the laser does not pass beyond the second layer of skin (dermis) Where are the hair follicles are located. Because laser treatments use non-ionizing energy, there is no risk of skin cancer. #teachingtuesday #laserhairremoval #freeconsultations #educatingourcustomers #ditchtherazorgetlaser #hairfreecarefree

Today is day two of the Miss TN social media challenge! Today is #TeachingTuesday! I was originally going to read a children’s book, but I figured I would focus on something a little more advanced for those in a higher education to align with my career goals and to maintain my social initiate which involves literacy. This will also give a sneak peak for my master’s thesis and how I will be spending my summer! 😁 I have posted two poems from two of the most popular World War I poets, Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen. Their poems are masterpieces that capture the reality of the war for many soldiers. They are hard to read and haunting, yet necessary. Without their powerful accounts, we wouldn’t know as much about personal experiences in WWI. This goes for all poetry. There is always a meaning and a reason behind the poetry. Can you find the reasoning (besides recounting the war for others) in these poems? #MissTNInstaChallenge @missamericatn #MissKingsport #Sassoon #Owen #WWIPoets

“Agricultural Exceptionalism” ➡️ The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (FLSA) originally excluded all farmworkers, & was amended in 1978 to mandate minimum wage for workers on large farms only. The FLSA has never been amended to provide overtime for farmworkers, and only a few states have passed laws requiring it. ➡️ Although farm work is highly mechanized and is considered one of the most dangerous occupations in the country, farmworkers are largely exempt from most federal workplace safety regulations. Farmworkers are typically less-protected or excluded from other employment-related protections at the state level including state minimum wage laws, unemployment benefits, and workers’ compensation. *Facts from: Student Action with Farmworkers in partnership with the Farmworker Advocacy Network. Delaware Spotlight - Dover 3/7⠀ ⠀ The Green⠀ ⠀ To learn more about Dover and see more historical photos use the 🔗 link in our bio or visit its history page directly on our website: de.gov/doverhistory⠀ ⠀ In 1683, William Penn first introduced the idea of a town to be called Dover as the court town for Kent County. However, it was not until 1717 that a plot was laid out for streets, squares, and lots. By 1722, a courthouse was built on the square (now known as The Green) and it became the county seat. In 1777, the capital of the newly formed State of Delaware was moved here from New Castle. It is currently the state’s second largest City.⠀ ⠀ #DelawareSpotlight #DelawarePublicArchives #VisitDEArchives #netDE#delaware #delagram #delawarehistory #historicaldelaware #doverde #doverdelaware #kentcountyde #kentcountydelaware #delawarephotography #vintage #vintagephoto #vintagephotography #oldphotos #oldphotography #historicalphotos #socialdistancing #distancelearning #remotelearning #learnfromhome #stayhome #teachingtuesday

Ask them for their name. 3. Ask them what their favorite hobby is! 4. Instigate playing a game! 5. And finally...just treat them the same way you would like to be treated Bonus: Give them lots of hugs! ❤️ Being a friend and mentor to someone who is born different can truly change your life. Mae Francis Moultrie was one of the first female Freedom Riders and the only African-American female Freedom Rider on the original #CongressofRacialEquality ride of May 1961. Moultrie, a 24 year-old student at #MorrisCollege, joined the ride in Sumter, SC on May 11. She was a part of the group that was attacked in Anniston, Alabama on May 14. As a victim of acute smoke inhalation, she does not remember much of the attack. After the ride, Moultrie felt compelled to continue her education. She also felt compelled to make the world a better place for others. In the years following, she has served as a missionary in Canada, Mexico, and Liberia. She has also become a minister, Reverend Mae Frances Howard. It seems that while hate and injustice sought to overcome Moultrie in the 1961 attack, faith and forgiveness have become the driving forces of her life. Photo Credit: @federalbureauinvestigation

Training Tuesday! Nothing in the World can stop these two from continuing their weekly self torture.. I mean running adventures. This kid runs several miles/week with her “old man” and the “vicious wolf pup” as she likes to call them. They're enjoying the last of the chilly days before it really starts warming up in S.C. I haven't been a runner since I was a kid but I know that it's very beneficial for your health. Running improves heart health, lowers risk of stroke, and helps with weight loss in addition to a proper diet. Running improves brain health, focus, and clarity by helping you get a better rest. Running helps relieve stress, anxiety, and depression resulting in a boost of confidence and self esteem which makes you happier! ”You can run any distance imaginable, it just takes time to turn your thoughts into reality.” #runnerslife #trainingforlife #iam1stphorm #weare1stphorm #trainingtuesday #teachingtuesday #soccerstarinthemaking #girlswhorun #soccerkid #perserverance #discipline #familyworkout

Teaching Tuesdays With Ask Me? Dr. Smart, DNP: 5 Tips Healthcare Professional Students Can Use To Perform Successfully In The Online Discussion Board Room⠀ ⠀ As many undergraduate and graduate healthcare professions students have now been forced into online learning as a result of the #COVID_19 pandemic, you must first know how to navigate in the online learning environment. One of the primary teaching-learning strategies used in online education is the discussion board. The majority of my years spent in the nurse educator role have been via the online learning modality. Here are 5 strategies in which the pre-healthcare professional student can employ for success in the online discussion board room:⠀ ⠀ 1. Reading Is Fundamental.⠀ ⠀ ✅Read all directions for each discussion board assignment carefully before constructing your submission post. ⠀ ⠀ 2. Say Something Substantial.⠀ ⠀ ✅Be sure you create a discussion board post that has substantial information and supported with cited references other than your required textbooks.⠀ ⠀ 3. Post Early!⠀ ⠀ ✅Post your initial post early in the week to allow classmates time to provide responses. This is the only way to have a truly interactive online discussion each week. ⠀ ⠀ 4. Ask Questions.⠀ ⠀ ✅If you are confused about a discussion board assignment, don’t be afraid to reach out to your professors or fellow classmates and ask questions well before the assignment due date deadline. ⠀ ⠀ 5. Review Posts For Clarity And Tone.⠀ ⠀ ✅Read over your posts to make sure there are no grammatical or typographical errors. Also, never use profanity, type in all capital letters, or use multiple exclamation points. ⠀ ⠀ Photo credit📷: usnews.com.⠀ ⠀ #teachingtuesday #onlineeducation #onlinelearning #professor #nurseeducator #healthcareprofessional #nursingstudent #gradschool #nursingschoolproblems #nursepractitionerstudent #crnaschool #medstudent #physicianassistantstudent #respiratorytherapystudent #dentalstudent #physicaltherapystudent #occupationaltherapystudent #socialworkstudent #healthscience #nursesofinstagram #npsofinstagram⠀ ⠀

Where I live, in the very southern tip of Indiana, is about as far north as cypress trees grow natively. Twin Swamps Nature Preserve, located in Posey County where I live, is a true wetland swamp where you can find many unique plant and animal species, including the Overcup Oak which is rarely found outside of the immediate area.💚🌳🌿 • So, there’s a little biology/botany lesson for your day. You would think after doing all their school work on the computer, that my kids would be sick of screens. But that is not the case. After they are done with school work, they immediately start asking to play on my phone, or play Nintendo. Most of the time I try say no (because reality… sometimes I am weak…) and I will tell them to go outside and play. But it is spring, so the weather is very unpredictable, especially here in Utah! That is why I like to have a variety of ideas to keep the kids entertained. My suggestion is to make your own stash of tried and true activities, and write them on popsicle sticks. That way, your kiddo can pull out their own stick! Good luck!! #winkwithsarahandsmile #teachingtuesday #screenfreeactivities

Lent Day 35 | #teachingtuesday Hello! As I was thinking of what to post today, I came across today’s Saint of the day - St Guy of Pomposa, known for his sanctity, wisdom and spiritual advisories. St Guy was someone who was very particular about the way he looked and dressed so that he could please his parents. However, one day during a festival, he realised how vain this was and stripped off his fine clothing and gave them to the poor. He then joined joined a community of monks at Pomposa Abbey, where he became abbot. He continued to live a life of solitude, holiness and humility and was sought after by many for his spiritual advices. What particularly stuck out to me about St Guy was how he was able to easily give up his fine clothing and life so easily. Many times I find myself very attached to these materialistic goods and find it very difficult to give them up. Yet at the same time I acknowledge my dependence on such goods do not benefit me. Like how I started to use social media less during this time and use that time to pray, I invite you to reflect on your Lenten journey and see where you can rely less on such materialistic things and more on God. You and your SAT coach should only use College Board materials. Walk into Barnes and Noble and it is easy to spot a plethora of test prep study guides all claiming to have realistic questions. The companies that write those materials are trying to copy the phraseology of College Board so their practice tests are as close as possible to College Board’s tests. There is no need to use SAT Prep study guides written by other companies like Princeton Review, Kaplan or others. The College Board’s 2020 Official Study Guide has eight practice tests closer to the real SAT since they are the organization that writes the exam. Of the eight, six were REAL TESTS administered to high school students within the last few years. Those six tests are Practice Test 5-10. Students are more likely to pay attention to skills being tested on a real test and come to the conclusion that they really do need to understand that concept. College Board offers two additional online for a total of ten free practice tests. These are in a PDF format allowing students to print them out when prepping at home. This is very convenient and allows easy portability. Having a live SAT coach available to answer questions of clarification using only College Board materials leads to a more prepared test taker. #SATpractice #satpracticetest #sat2020 #satpracticequestion #satpreparation #satmath #satexam #satexamination #satexaminations #satgoals #sattest #sattestprep #satmathprep #satmathpractice #satmathchallenge #satmathquestion #satmathquestions #satchallenge #satchallengequestion #sattestpractice #testpractice #satprepmath #practicesat #satmathtest #practicesatmath #satmathtips #satmathhelp #satteststudy #satmathtestprep #teachingtuesday

In these unprecedented times, schools across the U.S. have been forced to close in order to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus. Many education systems have sent kids home with materials and tools that help them continue to learn outside of the classroom, leveraging technology to keep everyone connected.
