Sometimes you a picture negates the need for words. This meal makes being vegetarian easy. You may have to translate this recipe, but it will be worth it. #Repost @alternativeeating ・・・ 🇮🇹Quelle domeniche che hai la testa un po’ a quello che hai fatto in settimana, un po’ a quello che ti aspetta, che un po’ ti spaventa, un po’ non vedi l’ora. * Queste le ho fatte al volo venerdì e le ho farcite con 1/2 scamorza affumicata tagliata a dadini (1/4 per una, 1/4 per l’altra), cavoletti di Bruxelles, castagne (@prima_colta), olive nere e qualche filo di cicorie appena scottate (che erano un avanzo, in realtà), tutto spennellato con una soluzione di: olio evo (3-4 cucchiai), 2 cucchiaini di senape in grani, 1 cucchiaio di aceto balsamico, 1 cucchiaino di cumino, sale e pepe q.b. Poi ho spolverato con la scorza grattugiata di 1 limone e messo in forno a 180 gradi statico 30 minuti + 10-15 minuti ventilato. (p.s. per la ricetta della pasta potete cercare sul blog una qualsiasi galette, che le dosi sono sempre quelle; qui ho messo 1/3 di farina di castagne e 2/3 di solina integrale, ma si può usare la farina che preferite, meglio se di cereali antichi e macinata a pietra). * Buona domenica! * 🇬🇧#savourygalette filled with Bruxelles sprouts, olives, chestnuts and smoked scamorza cheese. Ever feel a little freaky during the full moon and wonder why? Maybe you aren’t sitting outside howling or spontaneously sprouting hair, but your body and mood may feel different. Many people dismiss myths concerning the influence of the moon, but real effects are being found through science. Human and animal physiology are subject to seasonal, lunar, and circadian rhythms. The lunar cycle has an impact on human reproduction, in particular fertility, menstruation, and birth rate. Melatonin levels appear to correlate with the menstrual cycle. How well do you know and how much do you trust your physical hunger cues? One of the most damaging results of following restrictive dieting “rules” long term is you *unintentionally* learn to distrust your body. Your inner dialogue becomes more and more confused & irrational with each meal... Am I hungry? Am I even allowed to eat yet? How many calories is in this...ugh, I guess I can’t eat, only have 5 calories left for the day. I guess I’ll just brush my teeth and have a glass of water for dinner instead. #tb to 2012 ~ Missing the sun ☀️, sand 🏝 and volleyball 🏐 • Yesterday was the 🌍 International Day of Sport Development ⚽️ and Peace ✌🏻 • Yes, this pandemic has caused the suspension 🚫 and postponement⏳ of all sporting 🏀⚾️🎾 seasons 🗓 and events 🏟 for the time being. All athletes ranging from elementary and high schools 🏫, to clubs 🎽, to universities and colleges ⛹🏼‍♀️, to professional 🏌🏼‍♀️, to national 🏊🏻‍♀️ teams have had to cancel training 🚣🏼‍♀️. Athletes abroad 🗺 have been sent home 🏠. The Olympics 🥇 have been moved to 2021. Athletes 🏂 around the globe 🌍 have had to accept 🤲🏻 that their seasons are over, for now, and unfinished. It sucks 👎🏻 • But that doesn’t mean that FITNESS 🤸🏼‍♂️ and MOVEMENT 🏃🏼‍♀️ are cancelled. We can still workout 🏋🏼‍♀️, inside or outside. It’s times 🕰 like these, when you realize that movement 🏊 and sport 🤽🏼‍♀️ are a gift 🎁 that should NEVER be taken for granted. This was a use the rest of the coconut curry cauliflower I had left recipe....and this is what it turned into —> Coconut curry cauliflower chicken tacos 🌮 Interesting combo but ended up as another family hit! Seriously even my baby led weaning 7 month old LOVED it! Happy to confirm no coconut allergy too 🙌🏼👶🏼 . . . Cauliflower is a cruciferous vegetable that contains powerful phytochemicals, fiber, vitamins and minerals that should definitely be in your vegetable rotation! Multiple studies show that cruciferous vegetables protect against cancer. So stock up on those heads of cauli and freeze them, rice them, roast them, stir fry them have FUN with them! From crusts to mashed potatoes the ideas are endless with this powerful versatile veggie. . . . Recipe 👇🏼 Toss cauliflower heads in a mixture of 1/4 cup coconut milk (from the can), 1 TBS curry powder, 1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut, dash tumeric, and salt to taste. Roast cauliflower on a parchment lined cookie sheet at 425 for 20 minutes flipping a few times. Too woth fresh cracked ground pepper. Use this as a side, or stiff into a chicken taco or make into a nourishing bowl. . . . Lmk if you try this recipe and what you think??

my quarantine mood board 🌟 (I relate most to the first pic of the woman with cats bc that’s me 94% of the time) . . . sometimes I feel like I’m doing everything right under these circumstances — social distancing, keeping myself entertained at home, eating healthy, exercising, doing face masks and FaceTiming friends and fam frequently...but then I feel that something huge is still missing that none of the above, if done absolutely perfectly, can ever fix. Not a fun feeling but I’m trying to learn how to really feel it and be comfortable with the scary nature and uncertainty of the world. Really grateful for connection and community in these weird times even though I don’t have access to it like before. Times are tough, but things will get better. Sending love!!! 💖

This quarantine has really had me reflecting on my past. Almost 2 years ago I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life. I had to break off an engagement because in my gut I knew something didn’t feel right. I had about 200 people at my house a month before for an engagement party and I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life. It was not easy, it wasn’t fun by any means, it was super uncomfortable but my gut told me it was the right thing to do. That was probably one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned because it taught me how to step outside my comfort zone and now help others do the same. If you’re in a situation and it doesn’t feel right in your gut make a change. Chicken & Cashews !! I’ve really loved all the cooking lately but sometimes I just need takeout & I miss Chinese take out the most. SO here’s my take on a classic Chinese takeout dish! Really easy and quick to make and if you close your eyes and take a bite it could very well be coming out of a takeout box! - What you need: 1 lb thin cut chicken breast - cut into pieces 1/3 cup cashews (optional) 2 tbsp cornstarch or arrowroot starch 1/2 cup hoisin sauce 1/4 cup coconut aminos (or regular soy sauce) 2 tbsp white wine vinegar 2 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp sriracha (optional) - How to: 1. In a bowl, coat the chicken pieces in cornstarch so each piece is completely covered 2. Once each piece is covered, cook chicken in a pan on medium heat 3. While the chicken cooks, mix together hoisin, soy sauce, sugar, white wine vinegar (and sriracha if you want) in a bowl 4. Once chicken is cooked, pour the sauce and the cashews into the pan 5. Mix it all together until its all coated in sauce and the sauce thickens. 6. Enjoy the chicken over any version of rice and veggies you want!
