Λιγούρα για γλυκό: Πώς αντιμετωπίζεται; ____ Υπάρχουν μέρες που αναζητάς κάτι γλυκό. Πέρα από εκείνες τις φορές που πράγματι θα το φας (και η ζωή συνεχίζεται), μπορείς να κάνεις κάποιες διατροφικές προσαρμογές για να ελαχιστοποιηθούν οι λιγούρες, αλλά και να υιοθετήσεις κάποιες συμβουλές για να καταπολεμήσεις την έντονη επιθυμία, όταν αισθανθείς πως ήρθε η ώρα να κάνεις την αλλαγή και να προσπαθήσεις. ____ Δηλαδή; -Ξεκίνα με ένα καλό πρωινό που θα περιλαμβάνει υδατάνθρακες, πρωτεΐνη και φυτικές ίνες, ώστε να νιώθεις ικανοποιημένη για μεγάλο χρονικό διάστημα. -Κατανάλωσε ένα φρούτο με λίγο φυστικοβούτυρο και κανέλα ή γιαούρτι 2% με μέλι που είναι γλυκά σνακ και δεν θα σε γεμίσουν θερμίδες. -Βγες για ένα περίπατο και φρόντισε να καταναλώσεις 500ml νερό κατά τη διάρκεια της βόλτας σου. -Ελαχιστοποίησε τα γλυκαντικά γιατί ο σκοπός είναι να «εκπαιδεύσεις» τον οργανισμό σου να μη αναζητά γλυκές γεύσεις. -Κάνοντας μια λίστα για τους λόγους που θέλεις να αλλάξεις διατροφικές συνήθειες θα βοηθήσεις τον εαυτό σου να μείνει μακριά από ό,τι δεν έχει θρεπτική αξία. -Πέταξε όλους τους «πειρασμούς» από το σπίτι. Ή, ακόμα καλύτερα, πήγαινέ τα στη δουλειά για κέρασμα. Αν έχεις λιχουδιές στα ντουλάπια σου, αναπόφευκτα, θα τα ζητάς και θα τα καταναλώνεις. *Ναι, η πρώτη εβδομάδα αποχής θα είναι λίγο περίεργη αλλά μετά οι λιγούρες για γλυκό θα μειωθούν.

Steak Sunday seems to be the new thing.... #veganuary who?? 😂🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️! No, but Being serious I have seen more and more people selling and promoting Vitamin B12 jabs.... and I just want to whack them over the head with a nutrition book!! 1. Unless you have been diagnosed with a vitamin b12 deficiency then there is absolutely no need in having one!!! 2. Why would you willingly inject a foreign substance into your body without fully knowing what’s in it!!??3. Why would you just not make sure you have a balanced diet?? Meat - beef, lamb and pork, is one of the main sources of vitamin B12. This vitamin is only found naturally in food from animal products, such as meat and milk. Adults need around 1.5mg of B12 a day, which can only be found naturally in meat, fish, eggs and dairy products. Amongst other things, B12 helps the nervous and immune system work normally, as well as helping normal energy production, physiological function, red blood cell formation and helping to reduce tiredness and fatigue! Severe B12 deficiency can lead to nerve damage in the long term, if adequate levels of the vitamin aren’t consumed. Potential side affects such as pins and needles in hands and feet are very common and can easily be avoided by simply eating lean meat or foods fortified with vitamin b12! There is limited data on the long-term health effects of a vegan diet, but recently experts are starting to speak out more on the problems of B12 deficiency. And so if you are a vegan, then I would definitely recommend supplementation! But for most.... you don’t need to be injecting yourself monthly with some random liquid from a needle! Just eat a balanced diet - plenty of locally produced meat, lots of vegetables and fruit, good fats and of course lots of carbs!! As always supporting local British farmers with this steak! I tried something new for breakfast today! I cracked three eggs into a metal bowl, added diced ham and sliced russet potatoes and layered it on top with a little salt and pepper. I baked it in the oven for ten minutes at 450 and broiled it for another 10 minutes. It tasted pretty good! You aren't getting the best picture of these peanut crunch bites, but the recipe is truly all you need. These were a HUGE hit at work last week😋 . Brownie batter nut butter almond pecan bites... say that 10x fast‼️ TO MAKE⬇️ Spread raw almonds on a baking sheet and cook at 350 for 10 minutes. In a bowl, melt @cocoabarinajar until creamy. Take roasted almonds and throw them in a separate bowl with chopped pecans. Pour chocolate over the nuts and mix them around until well-coated. Spoon into clusters back on the baking sheet. Drizzle with almond butter and a sprinkle of sea salt. Put in the refrigerator for 2 or more hours. Enjoy!👍🏽 #chocolate #healthyfats

Decided to splurge and try @traderjoes kale gnocchi and I AM OBSESSED! I went yesterday to try the cauliflower gnocchi (I know I’m really behind the trend here) but they were out so I grabbed the kale one! It’s seriously amazing. Do you know this girl? Or Maybe I should say DID you know this girl?😍🤷 . More than likely, if you are reading this post, then you know her/me in some way. Maybe we are family, maybe lifelong friends, maybe new friends, maybe friends like family, maybe friend's of friends! Who knows? . But I just want to tell you about the 'Old' me! This was me 25+ years of my life! Obeese, inflammed, painful knees, hips, and back, numbness in one foot, lack of strength, frustrated with feeling tired all the time, extreme brain fog, crazy digestive issues, awful circulation issues, and addicted to sugar and carbs. But the worse part to me, was that my kids thought this way of living and feeling was just what they had to look forward to. I tried to change my health multiple times, but it was always a temporary fix, not a lifestyle. . After finding @lisaloufitness almost 4 years ago, you can scroll to end of the pictures to see the new healthy me, which I've maintained for almost 3 years. I have made it through many, many, many life trials that would typically derail me and put me right back to the old me. Actually, some of the hardest trials in my entire lifetime. But I have survived them by the grace of God, knowing I'm worth it!, and able to maintain the new healthy me! . I'm not sharing this for accolades at all, but to let YOU know....I GET the struggles!!! And I want with ever fiber of my being for you to have the same freedom and joy I have in living a vibrant life and not dreading all the things I can't do because... I think it's too late, or I have too much to lose, or I'm too old, or it's just in my genes, or I'm stuck this way, or I don't have enough willpower, or whatever you are thinking! You CAN Do it! . Let's talk when you're ready to feel better, have more energy, and live your fullest life possible because YOU CAN!!! What's for Lunch? 4 cheese ravioli 1 cup (280 cal) Spinach & Basil Pesto Sauce 2 tbsp (62 cal) ... my Spinach & Basil Pesto Sauce is just a blend of 1 cup fresh baby spinach, 1tsp dried basil (I didn't have fresh ones available today), 1 tbsp olive oil, 1/16 cup walnuts (I didn't have pine nuts) 1 garlic clove, 1 tbsp parmesan cheese, pinch of salt, pinch cracked black peppercorns ...I used the boiled broth from the ravioli to thin the sauce. . . For breakfast, I had a 1/2 shake serving (90 cal) & coffee with creamer (25 cal) . . Chocolate & pistachio cookies... dipped in dark chocolate!! 😋🍫 . These were the most delicious cookies I’ve made in a long time! Super soft, chewy and chocolatey! . Ingredients: 3/4 cup coconut sugar 1/2 cup of @kerrygold butter, room temp. 1 @vitalfarms egg 1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour 2 tbsp. cacao powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder Vanilla Sea salt Dipped into: @alterecosf chocolate, melted + 1/4 cup of pistachios 💚 . In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Whisk in 1 egg, vanilla and salt. Add all dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Scoop into balls and bake on a greased pan for 10 minutes @ 350 F. . Once the cookies were completely cooled: dip half the cookies in melted chocolate and sprinkle over pistachios & flakey sea salt! Once the chocolate has hardened, enjoy immediately! 🤗

Today’s dinner was inspired by @thebodycoach 🙌 spinach and ricotta puff pastry bakes 🥬 I put this with asparagus and baby potatoes. I made these by cooking garlic and onions together until soft and brown, then adding spinach. Once cooled I mixed it with ricotta cheese and a bit of seasoning and placed it in the middle of my pastry squares (ready rolled @tescofood puff pastry). I added Parmesan and cherry tomatoes on top and brushed milk around the edges. Absolutely loved today's run - not only did the sun come out of a day of miserable weather, I also did something I've never managed to do before 🏃🏼‍♀️ The run is stunning - after 5km of flat trails, you reach the cliffs and southwest coast path, which is tough to say the least 😅 A few kms up and down the cliffs and you head back inland, from sea level to... some way above 😅 There's about 3km of quite significant uphill that I've never been able to complete in one go. Today, for the first time ever we chugged all the way up the hill in one go, which I can only put down to nose breathing practice (and maybe my new training plan 🙈) ⛰ By breathing through the nose rather than the mouth, there is more resistance to the air coming in, which means around 20% more O2 is absorbed, and more CO2 expelled.
