So blessed to go through life with my hubby. I’m listening in on a conversation he’s having with our almost 4 year old. L: “I can’t do it Daddy. It’s just too hard.” Hubs: “You can do it! You can do anything you decide to do.” L: “Hold my hand, Daddy”. Hubs: “Ok. I’ll sit in here with you until you figure it out, even if I have to bring in my pillow and blanket. You can do this bud, I know you can!” ❤️⁣ ⁣ What we tell our children and our students about themselves is what they believe. Our voices become our children’s inner voices. Be mindful of how you’re phrasing things. Put yourself in their shoes. How would you feel if your parent or teacher talked to you like that? The thing with words is that once you put them out into the world, you can apologize but you can never take them back. 9 weeks into improvement season 👆. Mid December 🥶. Fighting the urge to hibernate but still smiling 😃. This time of year is TOUGH. It’s dark when we get up, it’s dark when we leave work. It’s cold. There are chocolates EVERYWHERE. There are work nights out and family meals bi/tri weekly. Chances are your motivation has dwindled (that’s normal). You probably feel like missing sessions (that’s normal). You are probably finding it harder to stick to your food plan (that’s normal). Be kind to yourself! We’re a few months post show season now. Even those who “nailed” post show are likely feeling less and less motivated at this point. That post show fire to “make all the gains” and “stick to a solid off season plan” won’t be burning as bright. That’s okay! Be kind to yourself! There are going to be times when you have to depend on your dedication and discipline instead of motivation. Just be mindful of this, know you’re not alone, and don’t fall down that hole of missing sessions and eating all the chocolates! Just because you’re going out for one meal doesn’t mean the whole day needs to go to pot! Neither should it mean you punish yourself by restricting or adding cardio! It all counts and you are worth more than that, you respect yourself more than that. How you feel & what you feel matters, don’t let nobody tell you different! • @theholistic.coach 🗣 INVALIDATION: We are the only ones who understand the true extent to how we’re feeling. We are the only ones who feel how much a situation has affected our physiology and psychology; of course, a trained professional can explore this with you and provide alternative explanations, points of view, treatment and thought processes - but even then, only we, the individual, truly feels it. We are the only ones who truly feel the effects—and symptomology—of our Mental Illnesses. We often become distracted by the projections, opinions and experiences of others; some will shame you for your own struggles; some will call you ‘weak’; some will offer unhelpful advice, such as telling you to ‘snap out of it’ or to ‘get over it’; some will judge you for your emotional reactions to particular events; others will dismiss your feelings; you’ll be criticised and/or be made to feel like a burden. To counteract this, this is where a strong sense of self-validation needs to be practiced; your boundaries need to be reinforced - unapologetically; reconsider you’re social engagements and connections: do they serve your balance or create/maintain imbalance?

This meditative piece comes from needing to remind myself to slow down, be mindful, remove distractions, and be present. To find this state of mind, I chose to create a new peaceful and calming synth sound using the Lagrange synth app. The result is a drone based sound with some very slow movement for texture. The main background pad here is three tracks using the same original sound just in different octaves. The sound played on the @teenageengineering OP1 is a new string based preset I’ve been dialing in. How often have you felt like you DON'T want to do something? And then later, when you listened to yourself and didn't do it, you felt GUILTY? I've often realized that we have a tough time balancing what aspect of ourselves we should listen to and what we shouldn't. My findings? Listen to ALL of yourself. Feelings are IMPERMANENT yes, but they are also quick guiding lights to the inner turmoil. Every time a feeling arises, we face the opportunity to explore it or suppress it. So yes, listen to that voice that tells you you're not in the mood. But also ask it why. Don't just listen, have a conversation. Often, you'll find that you've been neglecting something. Either your health, or your dreams or desires. Who knows? The more in touch you'll be with your mood, the less it'll swing. 😎

Imagine trying to see your whole body through the rear view mirror of your car, the view will always be partial. . You are whole just as you are. The parts of you that feel cracked, shattered or broken are the parts that can only see a fragmented view of the divine being inside. . The fragmented view is our stories, our ego and our shadow. . The path of healing is based on our willingness to face ourselves. It is not linear because the unfolding happens in the moments when we decide to choose liberation over compensation. . What does that look like? . In my own personal experience, it's choosing to balance my emotion by accepting the one thing I haven't been able to. . During my divorce I had to accept that my ex did not care about me, because every time I expected them to, I ended up hooked. . In relationship to my father I had to accept that he was mentally unwell and that his behaviors were not personal to me. They were driven by his own shame. . With outstanding circumstances, I've learned to accept that I don't need to practice a relationship to them. I can choose no relationship. . When we can see our problems as partial views, we can then make the choice to step backwards and gain perspectives. WOW it’s been a tough week. A year ago, a week full of inconveniences like this probably would’ve taken a much bigger toll on me. That’s ok, I was doing my best with what I had at that time and we must meet ourselves where we are. But above all, I am grateful for the fresh outlook I developed this year. I went to Austin to sign a lease and get a new car..unfortunately I had to sign myself into the ER after a 7 day flare up of my GI symptoms. Then, on the way home from the airport, I got in a minor accident (in the car I planned to sell before the move). It was really tough to be told by another doctor that my case is highly unusual and extreme, but they aren’t certain what is wrong. The long list of referrals is far too familiar and my greatest fear lingers- what if I spend all of my money on testing (again), they still don’t diagnose me, and I remain sick and untreated forever?! ...well boy am I glad I no longer let fear direct my life because I probably would remain sick forever. I am not helpless because I will never stop helping myself. We have to show up for ourselves and sometimes that includes turning some lemons. Whatever we put our energy into, expands - so we must choose wisely. When we s l o w down and respond instead of react to inconveniences, they are much more manageable. We may even be able to re-frame them so they aren’t so bad. The only guarantee in this life is suffering (sorry if I’m the one breaking the news!) Once you accept that, what is there to be afraid of? Soak up all of the beauty and joy you can in between the moments of suffering. One daily affirmation I tell myself is: if I can’t be happy, at least I can be grateful. We all can be grateful for something. So I try to get that gratitude out on paper twice a day- and then watch my gratitude and joy expand when I do. Show up for yourself and when shit hits the fan, have compassion for yourself but don’t stop fighting because you’re worth it. #begrateful #bemindful #liveyourtruth #meditate #nolemontoosour #squeezetheday🍋

The past few months have been challenging. I’ve faced multiple upper limiting beliefs about myself that I sat with. I gave it the time, care, and recognition it deserved. I felt it deeply. What I did not do was hush it, or run from it. I didn’t pretend it didn’t exist. It’s important to be honest— with yourself and with those around you— but especially with yourself. It’s okay to feel whatever you’re feeling. Once you become consciously aware of your state, you have the opportunity to recreate your emotions with an energy that provides drive and purpose to move out of the space you’re in. I suggest you stop ignoring the way you feel and truly tune in to yourself to reveal what it is you need. You will never manifest your desires, if your feelings aren’t backed by truth and alignment. The same Universe that’s both in and around you will read through your BS. What you feel is welcome here. Ride it out in their fullest expression, and live on purpose.

I used to be a perfectionist and I totally was able to see where that perfectionism came from, what the root was...⁠ And by seeing the root, something I was conditioned with during childhood, I was able to gratefully and wholeheartedly thank it and also to see what was hidden underneath it.⁠ For me, that was FEAR, fear of not being good enough, fear of not being liked and also fear of my power!⁠ I learned along the way that perfectionism is a way of control that is lead by fear and that it is only limiting you from growth. ⁠ How can you grow without learning...and if everything has to be perfect there is no space for learning and so also not for growth?⁠ I also learned and experienced that fear is an emotion that really drains your energy so what's the use of holding on to it....⁠ I was able to replace perfectionism by striving for excellence and by giving myself permission to learn and grow. ⁠ What a relief in my life... to be able to embrace my imperfections and let the light come through so I can grow...⁠ I wish we all embrace ourselves just the way we are! And allow ourselves to be human! If there are no obstacles we can never grow. Posted @withrepost@findingawareness The Ego is our attachment to our thoughts, opinions, feelings, memories, fears, pleasures, desires or possessions. These by themselves are perfectly fine, but when we get attached and derive our identity from them, that’s when the problems begin. ⠀⠀ This identification is to be stuck, to carry a weight, a burden in our daily life. When we assign a special importance to ‘my thoughts’, ‘ my history’, ‘ my desires’ , ‘my goals’, ‘my beliefs’ or ‘my religion’, ‘my ideology’, that’s when we run into conflicts with the world. ⠀⠀ This conflict is unnecessary. It causes pain and suffering. It creates more problems in the world than solutions. It creates more division and chaos than harmony. ⠀⠀ The ideal state of being is not to be ego-less or enlightened , for those are imaginary concepts from where we currently see them. The ideal state is to have as close an understanding of our Ego as possible. ⠀⠀ If we are aware that we live as this ‘accumulation of attachments’ that make our life difficult, we naturally begin to drop those attachments. They seem quite senseless and absurd. ⠀⠀ The day it seems silly to be proud of one’s beliefs and ideas is the day when we stop vigorously defending them against other people’s ideas. ⠀⠀ We can express our ideas fully but we never get into a personal conflict with any one with different or opposing ideas. For example, a person who is not attached to being intelligent, has no problems being called an idiot. ⠀⠀ This ending of conflict with the world, this ending of hate and division is important, becoming egoless is not. I got myself all pumped up for what was supposed to be my longest run before my marathon (19 miles). I was nervous, but excited. I planned my route out perfectly. I set out all my stuff last night... My only concern was my knee.. I had been icing it and taking it slightly easier.. This morning I woke up, got out of bed and realized my knee was swollen.. My mind tried to tell me I can still go run, you have a knee brace, it'll be ok... But the more I thought about it, the more it became clear.. I have a little over 4 weeks until my marathon.. If you go out now, you risk injuring yourself with the possibility of not healing before the race... I had to do what I tell others to do all the time.. Listen to my body.. And it's one thing I have a hard time with. But I got back in bed, skipped the run, and planned to schedule it for next weekend. I'm sad that I didn't get to do my run today but, I'm proud of myself for realizing that my body is telling me something and I need to listen to it. #listentoyourbody #bemindful #itsoktorest
