According to WWD, Italian footwear designer @giuseppezanotti has teamed up with U.S. rapper and composer Swae Lee on a men’s capsule collection, making its official debut on Jan. 31.
The launch of the “Giuseppe for Swae Lee,” which will retail from $995 for the low-top Blabber sneakers to $1,695 for boots, will be celebrated on Jan. 31 during Super Bowl weekend, with an event attended by both Zanotti and Lee at Saks Fifth Avenue at Brickell City Centre in Miami.
“What drew me to Swae Lee is his fearlessness. He’s able to straddle different worlds — tough and soft, luxury and street — effortlessly and naturally.
“What got me excited about working with Giuseppe was his openness to truly collaborate on something fresh and new,” Lee said. “These shoes really reflect my creative point of view, my eclectic approach to style and the idea that fashion doesn’t have to follow any rules.”
He has an unbelievably authentic touch,” said Zanotti, who met Lee last year when the musician and his brother Slim Jxmmi — they perform together as hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd — fronted Giuseppe Zanotti’s digital campaign for the launch of the brand’s Blabber sneaker.
