Our beautiful baby girl has arrived. 40 weeks + 5 days Went into labor on my own. Maybe a little sex, lots of walks, eggplant parm, dates, "running" the stairs and going on the slide helped. Contractions! Recently one of my authors asked about contractions in writing. He wanted to know if it’s grammatically incorrect to have them in his autobiography. Contractions are not wrong. I’ve noticed authors are using them in several contexts lately. We use contractions (“It’s good, I’m well”) in everyday speech and it’s progressively becoming acceptable in non-fiction writing. Authors choose to speak to their audiences, rather than preach to them. It truly depends on your narrative and your voice. Only you as the author know how you want to express yourself in your writing. Sometimes “I’m” sounds better than “I am” in a sentence, and it avoids jargon. “It’s” up to you! However, you want to be careful to avoid contractions in formal settings such as research essays and university thesis papers as it may come cross as unprofessional. It truly depends on the audience and the point you’re making. Happy writing!! 📖✒️ #writing #contractions #novels #proofread #pentoproof #norulesinartexceptyourown #book

All women are born with this #wonderful organ and many of you have never really seen it. Its normal size is about 7 inches long and 5 inches wide. This organ expands more than 100 times to house a fetus. Each month, it self-destructs and rebuilds, eliminating #menstruation due to #contractions, so #menstrual pain is uterine pain, not ovaries. It can support up to 150 times its own #weight. It is the only organ capable of creating another organ: The Placenta. It's connected to you. If you get stressed, she gets stressed, if you relax, she relaxes. In this same organ, life is shared, because there are women who, with this organ, gave life to up to 15 children, currently, they only give 2 or 3 children, for convenience, but are #qualified to train more than 20 lives. . It is a mother's second #heart, because there she forms the heart of her children. . Reposted from @med.guide #healthypregnancy #uterus #women #womenpower

How is everyone doing these days? It's an interesting time to be expecting. 🙃 I'm one week from my due date with my 3rd child. My first two were born 11 and 6 days past their due dates, and I'm feeling pretty content to be pregnant forever at this point, so it might be a while still. 😆 I've started nesting hard core. It's easy to let worries run wild these days, about birthing and having a newborn during a pandemic, having a healthy baby, the challenge of labor and birth, how my children will adjust, us all being cooped up together, the sleep deprivation, etc etc etc. I know I have to do this hard thing. It's coming. I know I am strong. I'm fortunate to have the help of an amazing partner and my family. Everything is going to be ok. I'm starting to go deep in my mind, envisioning how I want my baby's birth to go, connecting with him/her and letting them know we will get through it together. I can't wait to meet you, little one. This photo reminds me of how it feels to go through contractions. They are like powerful currents, trying to knock you off your feet, and it's best to just relax and ride the waves to make it through, rather than fighting. I've had two beautiful water births at a birth center in the past and am hoping for another. I'm at a new birth center with new midwives this time. Hoping for a smooth transition into becoming a mother of three and starting a brand new family. This will be my partner's first baby and I am beyond excited to see him hold our child for the first time. He's such a loving and caring person and is amazing with my older children. Fatherhood suits him. I can't wait to meet this little person who will make us a family. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I will be back to work later this spring or summer, whenever the covid19 crisis ends. See you on the flip side. Thank you @carolynmariephotography for the photos!

[MAGNESIUM ET GROSSESSE] . . . . . . #magnesium #grossesse #sante #stress #anxiete #bienetre #naturopathie #naturopathe #sophrologue #sophrologie #contractions #futuremaman #grossesseaunaturel #nutrition #micronutrition #nutriments #alimentationsaine #alimentation

The birth of our son was the most amazing and mind blowing experience I have ever been through. @Dealswithkyle was such an incredible support, I could not imagine going through it without him. On March 28, at 1:30am I felt two #contractions before I woke up to a pop and water leaking. At first, I was not sure if I had just peed myself or my water broke. 😅. I went to bathroom and water just kept coming out. I called the Hospital and they advised if baby does not move within an hour, to go in. So, around 2:30am we got the the hospital and was connected to a monitor for an hour, which confirmed I was having contractions that were 5 minutes apart and that my water broke. I decided to get admitted to ease my thoughts and be able to listen to his heartbeat than going home and not knowing if he was okay. During early labor, I walked, did squats, bounced on the birthing ball, and used the TENS machine to relieve some pain from the contractions. At 1:30pm, I finally got checked and I was 4cm dilated. At this point, it was getting REAL! I was already in active labor and contractions were two minutes apart. 😳 Holy Cow were the contractions a whole other level of pain that I have never experienced. I was gripping the bed rails for dear life. 🥴 😂 5pm came around and I got an #epidural and within minutes the pain was gone! (For all the moms who have had an unmedicated birth, more power to you 💪🏽). I do however understand when moms say that you are more in control with an epidural. I received the epidural and had two contractions without even realizing it. It was like night and day. Now it was a waiting game... I redid my hair for the most part, I did my makeup, and I actually got to rest 😴. By 9:30pm, I was 9cm dilated! Woot woot! By 11:45pm, It was time to push! I pushed for a little over an hour and on March 29 at 1:00am, Keanu was born! 😭👶🏻🍼 @Dealswithkyle and I are on cloud nine with our bundle of joy! . 💕Tag Moms! . #momlife #momblog #pregnant #boymom #pregnancyzone #birth #happilypregnant8 #life #beauty #love #family #teamboy #newborn #pregnantandperfect #pregnancyplanet_ #Firstpregnancy #baby #mommy #daddy #blessed #pregnancyphotoshoot #laborinthetimeofcorona

🌸 • Dawn Chloe • 🌸 DOB : March 30, 2020 at 5:53am 5.2 lbs / 17 inches long She came into this world a few days before her due date & a day before our induced schedule via emergency c section. On March 29, I had a 2nd cervical sweep from my OB Dr, went home, drank raspberry leaf tea and took a nap. When I woke up at 6pm, I felt some mild cramps on my lower abdomen. Pain was tolerable but I began to time it when it became frequent. Each contractions were 4 mins apart, lasting 50 seconds. I was nervous and excited at the same time. Went to the hospital at 9pm, I was already 2.5cm. Pain started to become intense each passing hour. So I've asked for an epidural when I reached 3.5cm. Unfortunately, it only numbed my left side and I could still feel pain on my right. I decided to sleep it off to try and alleviate the pain. At 3am of March 30, my water broke which eventually woke me up. The midwife examined the water; it had some green discharge which means, baby had passed stool (meconium). At this point, baby's heart rate became low. They had to act quickly. They called my Dr at 430am & decided to deliver via emergency c section. At 5am, I was being wheeled to the OR. I was given general anesthesia because my stupid epidural didn't work. Also, my husband wasn't allowed inside because I was sedated. The last thing I remembered was the oxygen, gas mask and curtain. When I woke up, it was already 730am of March 30. Feeling groggy, the first thing I asked when I opened my eyes, was, "Where is my baby?!" The nurse told me that my husband was with her. I was then taken to the recovery room. At 7pm, my husband got a wheelchair and took me to the NICU where DC was taken immediately after she was born. She received antibiotics and oxygen. This was the very first time that I had met my daughter. No words could explain the feeling. I literally cried my eyes out. For those of you who followed my pregnancy, thank you. Reposted from @yogamamma.oslo The birth of Maud 3/12: With two hours left of my pregnancy and in active labour, I found myself in this position, lifting the baby and opening the heart up up up towards the sky. When I teach pregnancy yoga I am super careful about backbends, but in labour there are no rules. The intrinsic dance of energy, force and movement between yourself, the baby and Mother Nature allows for anything and everything that your body mind and soul need and desire. No, this post is not about backbends, it’s about my belly, about a part of the experience of moving around in the world with a big, pregnant belly that I believe needs addressing. Please remember, all pregnant women have their own unique stories of love and loss, difficult births and miscarriages, body image, health issues and other complications. As an outsider you know very little about their situation, worries or fears. .There are so many things to say instead of giving your subjective opinion on whether her belly/body is big or small (compared to what and who anyway?) such as a simple how are you, you look healthy, you look radiant, you’re glowing, you carry beautifully, such incredible work you are doing, wow look at you, already a mama 💛 Four hours later, she was born 💜 @evarosebirth ❤️❤️❤️❤️ .. .. 💕 Follow us 💕 》@pregnancyandfeelings for more ______________ . 📸: @yogamamma.oslo | #pregnancyandfeelings .. .. #malasana #deepsquat #pregnancyyoga #gravidyoga #yogaduringlabour #yogabirth #yogamamma #birth #fdsel #consciousbirth #bevisstfdsel #activebirth #birthdance #nofear #onlylove #contractions #opening #joyofbirth #abcullevl #motherhood #pregnant #pregnantbelly #babybump #changingbody #pregnancyyoga #backbend #yogamamma

Reposted from @yogamamma.oslo The birth of Maud 2/12: The power of words! How we shape our own reality through the stories we tell ourselves. Probably the single most important reason why this birth was such a wonderful experience was the total absence of fear. I think I was not scared because I had used positive affirmations throughout my pregnancy and as such ‘programmed’ my mind to approach labour with confidence, trust and gratitude. I have also consciously worked to redefine the strong sensations experienced in childbirth from painful to intense or powerful. We need these sensations to become super intense for our baby to be born, but unlike pain they are not harmful and as such nothing to be scared of. I love heart-womb breath as a way to connect in. With one hand on my heart and one hand where I imagined the baby’s heart to be, the story that became our shared birth story was shaped by words like: together we are having a calm and beautiful birth. This contraction will help us along. That was a strong one, we are getting closer. My body is opening up now so you can come out. My body knows exactly what to do. We can’t wait to meet you. We love you already. Reposted from @yogamamma.oslo ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Birth of Maud 1/12: This is an ode to the powerful position of Malasana - deep squat, during labour. I arrived at the birthing clinic at 1 pm. My waters had broken but I did not have any contractions yet. I showered, changed, rearranged the room, turned off all lamps, put on beautiful music and stepped onto my mat. During the next two hours I actively invited the contractions in, welcoming and celebration each one, through a combination of yoga, dance, conscious breathing and positive self-talk. This was the moment my practice during pregnancy, indeed my whole life it felt, had prepared me for. My intuitive yoga birth dance consisted of free, organic, rhythmic movements, hip circles from standing, seated and all fours, moving bear, swooping cat, roots rising and deep squats, lots of them. Silent, like in this photo, with golden thread exhalation and affirmations, dynamic and supported squats. With my feet firmly planted on Mother Earth, I used the length of the spine, the opening of the pelvis, the stretch of the pelvic floor and the force of gravity to invite my baby down. Hello my pregnant yogis! 🤰🏽 I have created a short video for you all to practice those MOCK CONTRACTIONS. Grab your birth partner and do one together, then do the second set alone while your partner talks you through it. Play some music. Make noises. Find difference ways to cope with the discomfort. If you’re 34 weeks or past and baby is breeched avoid these so baby’s feet or bottom doesn’t descent deeper into the pelvis. I will be teaching #prenatalyoga tomorrow morning at 10:30 PST and we will definitely be doing these. ♥️ Tag a pregnant person who would benefit from these.

#accouchement #naissance #confinement #baby #contractions #recitdaccouchement #peridurale #joie #stress #amour #famille #excitation #bebe #mumtobe

After a while I wanted something against te pain, the doctors but me under the shower for a while and suddenly I wanted to push ???? Apparently I was fully dilated! Even though I’m home from school at the moment, Mummy and Daddy are doing their best to keep teaching me. I know I sometimes complain when it’s time for school work, but my teacher is working hard to send through my work to keep my education going during isolation. . . . So this week I’ve been really busy doing my work, lots of maths, English and some art. My teacher was so impressed she gave me 10 Golden Smilies! . . . Now time to chill... . . . #benvsduchenne #homeschool #maths #english #education #teachers #contractions #numbers #duchennemusculardystrophy #duchenne #art #easteregg #colours #dmd #goldentime #chill

I have been thinking a lot recently about what it would have meant for me to have Isaac during this pandemic. The thoughts terrify me. I had two birthing partners and both played such important roles. Chad was by my side the whole time and then took over skin to skin with Isaac and my mum held my hand whilst everything started going wrong. I was separated from Isaac after birth for surgery and knowing he was in chads and my mums arms whilst I was gone helped get me through. Having such a large team of midwifes, nurses and doctors readily available meant that when things went wrong I felt safe. Chad being the one who wheeled Isaac into recovery is one of the most beautiful memories I have. All these things I took for granted and my heart breaks for all those facing lone births or under staffed hospitals. My heart also breaks when realising how many many women in this country and around the world face these same dilemmas whether there is a pandemic going on or not. Women are mesmerisingly strong. Whatever you are about to face as a pregnant mama right now you will face with the strength of all the woman that came before you. Those mama bear instincts will kick in, you are made for this, you are stronger than you could have ever believed. You are true goddesses facing these times whilst cradling new life. I love and admire you all ❤️ . . . #uklockdown #quarantine #quarentinelife #covidpregnancy #pregnant #birth #womenempowerment #womensupportingwomen #mumssupportingmums #momssupportingmoms #feminism #womenarestrong #yougotthis #yougotthismama #mumsnet #mumsofinstagram #labour #birthingpartner #contractions #hospital #newborn #babies #femaleempowerment #motherhood #motherhoodrising #motherhoodinspired #motherhoodintheraw #strength

#contractions #douleur #etrezen #sedetendre #lanatureestbienfaite #accouchement #futuremaman #mumtobe2020 #selfcontrol #mumpower #concentration #commentaccoucheraveclesourire #accouchementsansdouleur #preparationalaccouchement

💛 Day 17 💛 The house opposite us have just had a trampoline, an exercise bike and a treadmill delivered... Me? I’ve had a letter off The Health Secretary saying I’ve been moved into the “Extremely Clinically Vulnerable” category... 🤣 💛 Happy Friday! 💛 you have to laugh or you would cry! Look at her cute little table! Currently trying to distract myself from the fact my contractions have officially started (hello again pre term labour!) so I will be uploading all the photos I’ve taken of Romy this week shortly 😃

#destin #23+3 #hospitalisation #alitee #recit #1an #deja #souvenirs #memories #stmusse #transfert

Well I started having consistent contractions earlier and they sent me to L&D to be monitored. Unfortunately the contractions have just gotten more consistent. Waiting to get my first shot of steroids to mature their lungs but we may be having two baby girls tonight. Please pray! 💞 Trying not to be disappointed in myself. Today is 31 weeks and 4 days 💛 Super thankful hubby can be here with me.
