This fall, while on sabbatical from my job (not the smartest financial decision to make, but the best decision for my body, mind and spirit), I realized that I have lived my entire life from a place of lack. Lack of money, lack of time, lots of other lacks. I decided then and there that I would shift my perspective and begin to live from a place of abundance. This is my account keeping me accountable with my finances.
I devoured numerous personal finance books this December and am totally on board with @daveramsey and @financialpeaceuniversity. I am taking control of my money, budgeting for the first time in my life, thanks to @everydollar, funding my EF of $1000 the last day of this month as well as knocking out my first credit card debit of my #debtsnowball.
I was feeling confident earlier this month about this journey, and still do to a certain degree, but I feel scared that I will fail. I cannot fail. I owe it to myself and to my daughter to attack this with #gazelleintensity, perseverance, determination, discipline and creativity. All things I’m pretty good at.
These are my daughter’s beautiful give, save, spend envelopes she made. She is learning by my side on how to make your money work for you.
