Ever thought about who would provide for you and your family if you weren’t able to work anymore due to illness or injury? Who would pay your mortgage, bills and other living expenses? An Income Protection policy provides security for your family while you’re recovering. This type of cover pays out a regular income if you can’t work due to injury or illness, and helps you meet your monthly outgoings Even if your employer provides sick pay, it is unlikely to last more than a year, so this type of protection is very important Income Protection is affordable and very easy to arrange – plus, it will continue to pay out until you return to paid work or you retire (whichever is sooner depending on the policy chosen) If you need help in understanding all the options to find a policy that suits your situation, jump into my DMs for a chat #ukmortgagebroker #ukmortgages #ukmortgage #lifeinsurance #criticalillnessinsurance #incomeprotection #funeral #funeralplanning #debts #lifethreatening #terminalillness #estateplanning #financialsecurity #inheritance #inheritancetax #familymatters #familyforever #cancerawareness #debtfreecommunity #ukfamily #responsibilities #garyvee #ukparents #uk #ukaccountants #pwc #deloitte #kpmg #ernstandyoung #ukestateagents

Investing opens up a whole new world 🌍 and sometimes it’s difficult to know the options out there let alone the one that may suit you ⁣ ⁣ 🙋‍♀️ Before you invest though- pay off all of your bad debts. Painful sometimes to need to do this first but it will put you on a better foundation moving forward. Also that you have your emergency saving done and medium funds completed (including property deposit if this is a goal for you) too⁣ ⁣ 💪🏻 Now you can enter the world of investing! ⁣ ⁣ 😍 If you are a beginner in investing it’s good to start out in a way that it simple and can diversify your position. Later on once you feel familiar and have more knowledge go for what you like. But in the beginning start learning the ropes it’s safer to look at options that are more risk adverse. Also note with investing it’s an emotional ride too as investing can have your money dip go up and bounce around. So below are options that are more suited to long term buy& hold⁣ ⁣ 1️⃣ Index Fund⁣ 2️⃣ ETFs⁣ 3️⃣ Target dated funds⁣ 4️⃣ Micro investing ⁣ 5️⃣ Roboadvisor⁣ 6️⃣ Single stock (that you’ve researched well) ⁣ ⁣ 🔅Index funds are based on an entire index like S&P500 or S&P/ASX200 which means with your $1000 you buy units of each of the companies that within that index and returns that index’s benchmark ⁣ ⁣ 🔅ETFs is like a index but packaged up. ETFs can be many companies in one industry, an index, or a similar theme eg high dividend companies etf. These are priced like a stock and your $1000 can buy a certain amount of that ETF⁣ ⁣ 🔅Target dated funds are ETFs combined with Bonds. This is more risk adverse as it’s balances shares with bonds ⁣ ⁣ 🔅Microinvesting is good for those who aren’t disciplined with setting money aside or like to add small amounts without incurring large fees but there can be certain portfolios you need to invest into ⁣ ⁣ 🔅Roboadvisor is having a portfolio that you can build that has asset allocations and weights that suit you (more diversified)⁣ ⁣ 🔅Single stock is investing $1000 into a company or a couple of companies. Higher risk ⁣ ⁣ Are you excited about investing? What are you going to start investing in? It started investing in when you become deb

Big thank you to whoever used my referral code! Managed to get these goodies for just £9.50! So far we have had 3 of our 4 meals that were delivered and they have all been AMAAAAAZING! We tried to pick things we typically wouldn't buy, and with the discount codes, these couple of boxes have given us 8 meals for less than you'd spend on a Dominos for 2! We're away next week so we just paused for a week to restart when we are back! If anyone else wants my referral code to get your first box 60% off (works out about £14 for 4 meals for 2) then 30% off the rest of your first month, let me know! 🥗🍟🍔😍 #debtfreecommunity #debtfreejourney #debtsnowball #debtfree #debt #debtfreeliving #financialfreedom #financiallyfree #debtfreegoals #debtfreelifestyle #finance #credit #creditcard #lifestyle #mummyandthemoney #debtmanagement #budget #budgeting #mummy #money #snowball #snowballmethod #family #saving #familyfinance #moneymatters #maternity #capitalone #gousto

CONFESSION! I had my first no spend January fail! I went for a couple of drinks last night with my ex work colleagues as one of them was leaving. I don’t regret this. It was a one off and I rarely get to see some of them. It was lovely! However back to my no spending from today. I am keeping away from the shops and mostly eating from our store cupboard. We have a cinema trip this weekend but this was paid for before I left work last May. We could buy cheap tickets with our employee benefit scheme. I stocked up! We have a ton of chocolate left from Christmas so will take that along to nibble, plus our own drinks. If you are doing a no spend month, how’s yours going? Hi! About six months ago, I said farewell to this page to re-evaluate some priorities and my feelings about sharing my family online. I have thought about this page and the community of people I met, and constantly wonder what they are up to and how they really are. For so many reasons that I could never list, I would love if you would have me back in the minimalist/budgeting space. We have had some pretty significant changes in the past six months, and I can’t wait to share the good and bad. I hope you stick with me 🤞🏼 Kathryn x

💰IMAGINE THIS..If you bought 20 shares in amazon in 2015 for £5,800, 5 years later to this day they would be worth £37,960! That’s £32,160 in 5 YEARS! We need to stop living in the moment and start investing in our future. By doing this we could potentially retire early and be able to do what we have wanted to do all our life! Start now 💪🏻

Just after posting how happy I was that I hadn’t bought anything from amazon for 2 weeks. But, I count this as a necessity. I’m a preschool teacher and we’ve been battling head lice for two weeks now in our class (and for the second time this year). I’m paranoid that I’m going to get it because I’m always so close to the kiddos. Absolutely don’t want them and all the hassle they would cause, so I spent $20 on prevention and a lice comb as an added precaution. I also reactivated my amazon prime for this because that monthly payment was cheaper than the shipping. I’ll cancel prime as soon as it ships and I should get reimbursed for the prorated rate. I also had a prime $5 gift card so I saved money on it too. #debtfree #journeytobeingdebtfree #debtfreejourney #budgetlife #budgeting #budgetteacher #mymoney #financialfreedom #iwanttobedebtfree #countingeverypenny #2020budget #debtfreecommunity #dfc #2020goals #makinggoals #2020goalsetting #debtfreecommunity #dfc #debtfreecharts #studentloanssuck #sinkingfunds #debtpayoff #countthosecoins #moneywins #5dollarchallenge #teacherlife #teacherstruggles

Struggle in the Cambridge English Dictionary means experiencing difficulty and making a very great effort to do something. Life is full of struggles. We all face struggles, big and small, every single day - our finances being one of them. While it's not always easy to accept them, it is important to recognise that our struggle means something. . . Trusting your struggle means trusting and believing in yourself. It is having the courage to believe that when the temporary financial storm eventually ends, it will all be worth it and you will be in a much better place. It means having great confidence that you are right where you need to be in the moment, learning valuable life lessons and experiences on your journey to financial success. It means accepting that tough times never last, but you (being a tough cookie) will confidently overcome any challenges any struggle brings. . . I know it’s easier said than done, but trusting your struggle is an essential prerequisite to your success. It will take effort, dedication, determination, and grit. But through it all, you will gloriously make it to the other side. Be encouraged and trust your struggles. Have a fab weekend! . . . You don’t need more storage, you need less clutter! - I love this quote because it’s so true! . . I feel like we’re hugely overwhelmed with toys in this household after Christmas. Unfortunately lots of Christmas present toys are too big to fit in these boxes! 😫 . . I currently have a trampoline in my living room since Christmas! Thanks parents in law 🙈 😉 . . It’s time to de clutter. My son and I already went through his stuff straight after Christmas. He’s 9 years old so it’s easier for him to give up toys he no longer plays with.(not that he plays with toys no a days, it’s all about gaming with him). . . But my 3 year has different ideas. She always wants to keep everything from baby toys to big girl toys..what’s hers is hers 😆 but she is totally overwhelmed by her toys not knowing what to play with or losing interest minutes after getting the toy out. . . So today we’re going to go through all my of my little girls toys which are downstairs. Making piles : charity shop, keep, sell and nannies house. . . Not only will a good toy declutter make more space..i will make some money for our two savings pots, My little girl will be less overwhelmed with what to play with, and there will be a home for each toy item. So every night we can put the toys back where they belong. Rather than having a pile of toys in the living room which don’t have homes. This way when everything has a home it’s much faster to keep on top of cleaning! ———————————————————————— #declutter #organised #organisedmum #storage #toystorage #decluttering #clean #beforeandafter #moneysavingtips #moneysaver #moneysaving #frugalmum #thriftymum #frugalliving #tidy #bargainshopper #moneysavingexpert #debtfreecommunityuk #debtfreecommunity #debtfreejourneyuk #onabudget #budget #wahm #sahm #sparkjoy

My ninth tip for No Spend January is to think about why you're doing it? What's your end goal? It could be something like wanting to pay off debt quicker, you could be saving towards a holiday or a new kitchen, you could be wanting to reduce how much you spend on unnecessary stuff or you could be wanting to be more mindful of your spending. My why is mainly to stop spending all our 'spending' money every month on just stuff. I'd find that by the day before payday the bank account would be looking very sad indeed. We picked up random stuff and ordered from Amazon regularly. It was often things we didn't need. We'd pop into the supermarket and spend another £20-£30 mid week on things we didn't need. A treat for the boys in McDonalds was become more and more frequent and we were eating out more and more. I'm doing this so that we're more in control of our spending habits and spending more mindfully. The money left (fingers crossed) at the end of the month will be a nice bonus, which will be split between out holiday pot, savings and for doing work on the house. What's your why?

Desire to own my home as I value a sense of housing security 2. Want to travel as I enjoy it so much and value the experiences along with personal growth that comes from it 3. I'd like to self fund retirement, less dependency on an unstable government funded income stream What's your dream? #prettywoman #debtfreecommunity #ozdebtfreecommunity #dfc #debtfreedom #debtfreegoals #debtfreejourney #debtsnowball #debtfreecommunityaustralia #debtpayoff #daveramsey #babystep2 #bs2 #bfi #barefootinvestor

$1,471 was the average social security check in 2019. Imagine being in your older years of life and not having the ability to supplement this income! That is the sad reality for many elder Americans who did not plan appropriately for retirement! Paying rent and utilities can quickly take a large portion of your social security check. Sadly many social service programs don’t properly account for helping seniors. Many of us think that we can’t wait to retire, but what does retirement look like? I challenge you to think of what you want your retirement years to look like. By beginning to think about it, you can start thinking about how much money you will need to be able to sustain the life you want. I hear you can create and complete wills online in the comfort of your home. There shouldn’t be any excuses to put it off now.🙊 (No personal recommendations since I didn’t go this route. But I did hear about a website called MamaBearLegalForms.com and an app called “Tomorrow” that people seem to like.) . A will does the job. Distributed assets.✔️ Appoints legal guardianship.✔️ Only con: It goes through probate (takes time and money). . I chose a living trust. (My trust has a will intertwined with it too.) Right after my husband’s car accident, I was the one in the household that worked full-time and took care of the family (doctor appointments, hospital bills, cleaning, cooking, taking care of my husband in bed AND caring for my child) until my husband started getting better. I barely got the chance to process the accident through this time because I was sooo busy taking care of other things. I started to have random, anxious crying attacks and flashbacks of my husband’s damaged face when I first saw him in the hospital... And the car that looked like it went through a garbage compressor. It took awhile to heal from it and I was really exhausted from the trauma AND work to keep my family afloat. . A trust was the best choice for my family because I was mostly thinking of my living family after we pass. I imagined the trauma they might experience when losing us. I want them to go through the least amount of stress as possible when dealing with all our assets after we pass. (Did you know a living relative has to start paperwork for transferring your assets within the first few days after your death? The sooner the better because of PROBATE.) That’s the benefit of not going through probate through a trust. I didn’t have time to process my husband’s accident at first, and I really want to give my living family that opportunity without having to worry about my assets right after death. . Overall, this is a personal choice. A lot of people could make do with a will. Not many people have living trusts until they are way older anyway (I am 30.) . #livingtrust #verypersonal #debtfreecommunity

The new job I have is going to be weekly pay. The job I have now is monthly. I will have one more pay with my current job but it will only be a weeks worth of hours and about 20hrs of annual leave. We are supposed to be getting a bonus too but I bet they won't give that to me because I'm leaving. Anyway I'm a bit overwhelmed at the thought of weekly pay. Monthly is shit but you pay everything at once and once a month which is easy. Should I split all the expenses to weekly or pay different expenses each week? Eg: pay car loan one week, utilities another week etc? Buying a new vacuum has been on our list to buy for probably 18 months now, our current vacuum I think my husband bought close to 5 years ago? And it’s just stopped picking up the cat fur. All the Dysons sold out before we could purchase one on sale and they’re too expensive to pay full price. @bigwaustralia had the V7 Animal Origin for $399 so we quickly snapped it up and now I’m waiting for it to charge.

Bought a new planner with time blocking in mind. Got this from Target, and it’s a little pricey but I love the design and it has the space I need for time blocking. There were planners with budgeting incorporated in them but they were not as detailed as other budgeting planners I’ve seen. If only there was a planner that has it all. #timeblock #timeblocking #budgeting #budget #dfc #debtfreecommunity #debtfreejourney

Saturday Night*** My kitchen is closed, toddler has eaten, hubby out for work, and for a change my kitchen is clean nice and early (aside from a few things to sterilise). Toddler has NOT napped today and delirium is setting in 🤪🤪, so bedtime is not far off. Then baby has a bottle, bath and bed, and THEN me-time (hopefully!!). #saturdaynight #cleankitchenatnight #kitchenclosed #debtfreecommunity #tiredmumma #crazytoddlerhasnotslept

I’ve been a bit busy guys. My budgets have been out the window, totally disregarded. Haven’t paid off the debt I thought we would at the end of 2019. Hubby is a firefighter and he has been busy with fires from August last year! But these were just down the road. So for the last 10 weeks we have had our bags packed ready for a fire. It’s been a huge struggle as a volunteer firefighter myself with 2 small kids at home and hubby at fires all the time I’ve wanted to be doing more for everyone else but just haven’t been able to. So instead I’m at my shed helping out in other ways and doing my bit too. 2020 debt freedom is the goal. A cash flowed holiday in July and plans for a overseas trip are out big goals. I’m ready to get it done. #becomingdebtfree #debtfreejourney #debtfreecommunity #frugalliving #debtfreegoals

So many people are using snowball method but due to 0% interest running out and my interest being £100 on my largest credit card I’m using the avalanche method instead! This means it’s gunna be a longer process but then the card costing me this most will be gone! £300 paid off so far this month! #debtfreecommunity #debtfreejourney #avalanchemethod

We are starting the year with big goals! When I did our budget planner for the year, I put down some big financial goals which require some big changes. 🔥🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ The big goals is to put ~$40k towards our debt payoff. Which will mean sticking to our budget - including our new cash only food budget - and being creative with finding ways to make extra cash. 🤑 We have also been rethinking our house buying plan. I've been looking into bus conversions and wanting to travel the US in a converted bus home for a few years now.🚍🚎 And last week - Caveman finally got on board and got excited!! It would require us to sell so much of our stuff. However we realized the tradeoff meant that whatever we sold could go towards our debt payoff. Making us debt free that much faster!🤩 So heres to 2020 and big dreams! Time to make them a reality!🥳💯🏆 #lifestartsbetween35 #hefandcavemanadventures #debtfree #debtfreejourney #debtfreecommunity #debtfreegoals #debtsnowball #debtsucks #babysteps #financialgoals #budgetlife #momoneymoproblems

Say hello 👋 to my new potting bench. . For free from gumtree of course. . If you look closely you’ll notice it’s actually a baby change table that I’ve repurposed. . I have wanted a potting bench for ages because I love gardening. . But I didn’t want to pay a cent because well it’s something I don’t need (i can do without it). I garden as a side hustle and hobby. . Everything else you see on the table is either free from gumtree or a present (the nice pots), or plastic pots we saved from buying plants ages ago (I rarely buy plants these days - I mostly grow from seed), the tools/watering can are so old (at least 13 years old from our first home). . It’s a mishmash of items that don’t match, but I love it. . #savingmoney #frugalliving #frugality #frugalhobby #debtfreecommunity #debtfreejourney #ozdebtfreecommunity #ozdebtfreejourney #frugalgardening

Today we have done a deep clean on our kitchen. Washed the fridge shelves and took all food out of the pantry and wiped down all shelves. Now the process to down size my Tupperware collection. It’s crazy how quickly stuff accumulates.

Breakdown of the debt I currently have: 🚗I bought my car last January, the starting loan was about $15k. I am wanting to get a new car already 🤦🏽‍♀️ I do like what I have but I want something bigger and it was my first time buying a car so I made a mistake in choosing something right away. Once I pay off my credit cards and student loans, I am planning on giving bigger payments to pay this off quickly. . 👩🏽‍🎓I have student loans but thankfully it’s not a big amount. I started with $9,500 in student loans and my repayment plan started last year as well. I’ve been paying more than the minimum payment. I actually didn’t need to take out loans at all because I was luckily enough to have received enough scholarships to pay my tuition and while in high school I did a college match savings program which helped me with books and materials I needed for the 4 years I was at college. The main reason I took out student loans was to pay my rent, buy groceries, gas, etc. I didn’t want to work to focus on my education but now I regret these student loans because they were unnecessary 😅 . 💳The credit cards I just randomly opened to start building up credit, I have a lot more store credit cards(Victoria Secret, American Eagle, etc) but I stopped using them because I mainly got them to get the discount. I was a college student when I opened them so I tried to take advantage of those discounts 🤦🏽‍♀️ #debtfreecommunity #debtfreejourney #debtfreedom #budgeting #budgetfriendly #budgetplanning #2020goals #moneymoves #moneymotivated #financialfreedom #sisepuede

Just got my dotted grid journal in the mail today, so I started writing out my #2020goals . I love learning new things so I found a cute way to track my books, audiobooks, games, and Skillshare courses (compliments of Pinterest). Just used a ruler and different colored pens/markers. Have you starting writing out your goals? #goals #goalsetting #debtfreecommunity #journaling #dotgridbook

6 years ago today, we became first time home owners & got the keys to our sweet little house. I was 23, he was 26 and we had one little toddler. Fast forward to now, we have three more little ones & a few more wrinkles & gray hairs. . . . My contentment journey on this page began a few months ago while I was struggling with the size & location of our home. But I'm happy to say that my heart has grown with gratitude for the contents of these four walls. While it might be a little smaller than we like to think would be comfortable & a little further out of the way, it has proven to be entirely everything our family has needed all these years and has become more and more everything I've ever wanted. . . . When our home was being framed, we wrote our names, notes & special scriptures on the walls. We dreamed of our future lives here, having no idea quite what that would look like. My children have taken first breaths, first steps and had first birthdays in this home. There are countless memories, which cannot be replaced. My father has helped me plant fruit trees & rose bushes, just like we used to do when I was a girl growing up. And now I get to share these memories here, with my kids.. . And to be honest, I don't think I can imagine doing life anywhere else. Often these days I can't picture ever leaving. This is Home. #sograteful #gratitude #contentment #contentmentjourney #thisishome #homebody #lovely #peaceful #peace #joy #family #love #firsthome #house #home #anniversary #memories #thankfulness #debtfreecommunity #sixyears #sixyearstoday

Do you shop ahead for kids clothes? At the rate that they eat... it’s really no surprise that they grow out of their clothes at the speed of light!! I have a stash of clothes put away in the next few sizes, ready for the growth spurts! But with 3 kids all needing a different range of sizes AND seasons, it can get very freaking confusing! I have a “wardrobe audit” checklist that I keep up to date with all my kids needs in the next few sizes so when I see some great bargains, I know what I need to buy! This saves me ever paying full price but also saves doubling up on too much of one item! Should I make my “Wardrobe Audit Checklist” available on the website to download? 😉🥰 #debtfreecommunity #budgetplanner #ozsavingcommunity #financialmotivation #debtfreejourney #passiveincome #budgeting #investment #hustle #the1000dollarproject #firemovement #barefootinvestor #ilooklikeaninvestor #financialeducation #moneygoals #savingtips #personalfinance #moneymanagement #decluttering #declutter #zerowaste #minimalism #debtfree #debtfreegoals #debtfreeliving #budgetmum

This fall, while on sabbatical from my job (not the smartest financial decision to make, but the best decision for my body, mind and spirit), I realized that I have lived my entire life from a place of lack. Lack of money, lack of time, lots of other lacks. I decided then and there that I would shift my perspective and begin to live from a place of abundance. This is my account keeping me accountable with my finances. I devoured numerous personal finance books this December and am totally on board with @daveramsey and @financialpeaceuniversity. I am taking control of my money, budgeting for the first time in my life, thanks to @everydollar, funding my EF of $1000 the last day of this month as well as knocking out my first credit card debit of my #debtsnowball. I was feeling confident earlier this month about this journey, and still do to a certain degree, but I feel scared that I will fail. I cannot fail. I owe it to myself and to my daughter to attack this with #gazelleintensity, perseverance, determination, discipline and creativity. All things I’m pretty good at. These are my daughter’s beautiful give, save, spend envelopes she made. She is learning by my side on how to make your money work for you. #daveramsey #daveramseybabysteps #babysteps #financialpeaceuniversity #budget #emergencyfund #babystep1 #babystep2 #debtfreesomeday #debtfreecommunity #debtfreejourney #dfc #singlemama #singlemom #singlemamadebtjourney
