It’s 10:15 and I’m back in bed but not for the reasons you might think.
Honestly just a few months ago if I managed to drag my insomniac self out of bed to workout with friends I would immediately have to go back to sleep because functioning on 3-4 hours of sleep every single night was impossible.
Your simply not completely healthy without sleep and sleeping during the day or intermittently is just not the same as 8 full hours.
I was cranky, irritable, short tempered and defeated most of the time.
Defeated because our American society says “Go, go, go & just when you think you can’t....GO SOME MORE”. We drown ourselves is sugary coffee drinks that cause havoc to our bodily systems and neglect our bodies needs because most of us just simply can’t keep up.
I only gave up coffee because I had to with my hot flashes but in hindsight I’m glad because it lead me to something so good for me.
So yes, I’m back in bed but trust me I slept like a baby last night! (Maybe because I don’t have one but if you do I can hook you up! 😂)
But I’m in bed because since waking up at 6:35 on my own no ⏰, thank you very much, I’ve gotten everything done ✅ except some Yoga.
So I’ll just be over here doing some much needed restorative stretching in my comfy bed and sending up some gratitude for the way I feel and give my body and mind a little TLC without shame because if God didn’t want us to rest He wouldn’t have created it.
So NOW that I can “Go, go, go” doesn’t mean I have to.
I know it sounds too good to be true....but it is. IT REALLY IS!!
