I use to tell myself that if I couldn’t log a workout on @crossfitbtwb, it wasn’t worth doing. • • I NEEDED to compete with others & myself to feel like it was a good training session. • • Over the years I’ve had a lot of rules like that. If I didn’t spend at least an hour at the gym, I didn’t go hard enough. If the session was cardio only, it didn’t count. If I wasn’t curled up in the fetal position in a puddle of my own sweat, I let myself down 💦. • • Oh, how wrong I was 🙆🏻‍♀️. • • I turned 30 this year & I’ve been questioning many of these rules, past & present. If I’ve thought of them, chances are there’s a lot of you out there telling yourself the same things. • • Comparing your ability of today to your ability a month, a year, or a decade ago is important. It holds you accountable, it motivates you—it gives you “facts” to compare instead of just relying on how you felt about a workout or movement. • • It doesn’t have to be a one rep max back squats or “Nancy” every. single. session though, okay? • • Today was a scheduled rest day but I felt the itch to MOVE. I’ve gotten really good at listening to what my body tells me & knew it needed low stress, low intensity. I did a little dynamic stretching & then worked handstand work for 60 min 🤸🏻‍♀️⏱ • • Let me tell you: working on things that scare you a little, that are way outside your comfort zone—is where the fastest progress happens. There’s exponentially more growth potential then with movements you love. • • Getting over the fact that you feel clumsy, uncoordinated, & a goofy is the hardest part. But once you take the leap, the rewards are endless.

My recovery at times is all I got and I'm grateful that I have it. Why? I'm really sick minded when it comes to how my brain operates. From social media it may seem like I have a problem free life. I dont. I really struggle with being able to live life. I have good credit, money saved, apartment, healthy love life, I do family nights, good job with benefits, tons of friends, I sponsor people, I pray, I believe in God, I read the bible, in of service daily. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ . Yet with all of this I battle with not ending my life and destroying everything I have. Moments like this Quarantine have really been hard. Drug dreams have been daily, thoughts of suicide have been daily, and my mind has been reveliving all my fears. Depression is real and this disease is evil. I might not make it I think at times and its scary. If I seek to find serenity and it doesnt find me I loose my hope which creates a hole of doubt, abandonment, delusion, and fear. ⬇️ . Yes, I jump rope pretty good, have a following on Instagram, have a Podcast, know some pretty well known people, my peers have said I am a blessing and I have helped hundreds of people find moments of clarity. I hear alot "Fausto you are going to do so many big things in life. You have gift!" . Crazy how this doesn't change anything when the mind wants you to fail. . Today I am grateful I have 900 days Sober because I believe it's the only thing that I can lean on for a second by second to see the light at the end of the tunnel. . If you struggle with mental health, addiction, or trauma. Please reach out for help. It's a real deadly battle that will do whatever possible to take you out. . Love you all❤

Information isn’t the issue If you want to change your body, one of the most common defaults for people to fall into is research mode. They read all the articles that come up in their social media newsfeed. They do all the Googling. They ask all of their friends what’s worked for them. They buy the books and magazines. All of it in search of the perfect solution. I want to tell you what’s going on here... This is simply a way that we can stall. It’s how we delay starting because we know change is challenging. It’s NOT that you don’t know enough - especially if you’ve got the support of a coach. Heck, there is more info than ever before on dieting and exercise, all with conflicting schools of thought. My opinion? Research is the fastest way to confuse yourself. Start making the changes you know are right in the moment. Skip the dessert. Order the side salad instead of the fries. Drink water. Move your body. Worry less about how to do it perfectly and just get started. Because if you never really get started you never see progress. And if you don’t see progress, you quit. So, the next time you catch yourself in research mode, remember my words here and just GO.

This has been a tough week. More negativity than positivity on my part. More "I just can't" than "I got this." The kids are frustrated and whiny. I've been disconnected and annoyed. ⁣ ⁣ This is hard. It doesn't serve any of us to pretend that it isn't. But it doesn't have to swallow us completely. When I feel it starting to, I do what I need to re-center. For me, that's being alone for a bit. For you, it might be calling a friend. Whatever it is, we have to do that one thing to keep this from crushing us. ⁣ ⁣ Do your thing today. Re-center. Exist here and now. Wake up and MOVE! For some of us, the change in schedules, quarantine, social distancing, and being home all day long, it can be very easy to get comfortable... or dare I say... lazy. Perhaps not comfortable because of what's happening in our country and the world, but being forced inside all day can lead to being complacent. I think that's why it's so important to continue to experience things that will push you outside of your comfort zone. Continue to challenge your mind and your body. Set an alarm in the morning even if you don't necessarily have to be up. Don't hit snooze. Get out of bed and start moving. Start reading. Do SOMETHING. Set the tone for your day in this new normal. Little leg burner for you this morning... Every 3 minutes for 4 sets: 7 Front Squats (L) 7 Front Squats (R) 7 Goblet Squats *Add 1 rep to each movement every set. Rumination and it’s BFF worry. These two fun features of having a brain are extremely distressing for those dealing with depression and anxiety. They have some similar features and some distinct features. Both involve repetitive negative thinking that is difficult to control and are a form of mental problem solving for unresolved or ongoing problems. However worry tends to be more future oriented and not related to the self whereas rumination generally has to do with the past and is personal. The weather was WAY TOO BEAUTIFUL to not go to where it all started! When I first started skipping rope, I made the vow to take a big step out of my comfort zone and take it to the side of the road where my entire neighborhood can see me.
