Every now and again you just need some sparkle sent your way. A few days ago I really did, my 6 year old felt it too, she's really missing her grandparents. Emotions are high, not being able to see those you love, the uncertainties of the future....I know I am lucky really I have a family I can hug and love, I am so busy entertaining them every minute of the day I don't have time to be lonely but somehow that only made me feel more guilty for my feelings. Then my daughter said to me when you smile mummy it makes me smile and then that makes me happy. So I did and she did smile and she was right it did help and I also realised sometimes you can't help you way you feel, its ok. No you don’t have to learn a new skill, or start up a business. But you can figure out what you enjoy. You’re living in a time when you have more time to yourself. And although you might think it’s more time to be full of stress, worry & anxiety, it’s also space to invest in what you enjoy. I woke up this morning with a migraine. I’ve been struggling to sleep because of everything that’s going on (no, my life isn’t perfect) and quite frankly I felt really sh*t. I spent part of the day journaling, trying to figure out how I was feeling and where my head was at. I then had a rest, I ate, I cried and I listened to music. I wasn’t try to shake the funk I was feeling, I was being with it. I eventually felt like moving my body so I practiced some yoga. As I started moving my body in sync with my breath, and I became connected to my hands on the mat I started to feel really grounded. Once I’d finished my session, I felt really nourished and nurtured. Then I felt like writing this post. What I’m saying is. You might feel really sh*t in this time ... but you can still fill it with things you enjoy... the more you participate in things you enjoy... the more you enjoy the things you are doing, the more your perspective broadens and more clarity you gain on issues that once felt big. This in turn enables your nervous system to enter into the parasympathetic state, or homeostasis which encourages physical healing, emotional and mental equilibrium, relaxation and supporting your immune system function 💗 So, what do you *really* enjoy doing loves? Don't give in. Don't give up. . Find what you love. Do what you love. . Started my workout today with #mm100 "fight club" and I absolutely hated it!!! . I fought through the first 10 minutes, progressively getting frustrated with myself for not being coordinated, with not feeling like I was working out good enough. . So I quit. . And instead of throwing in the towel... I chose to change it up. . I ran hard for 15 minutes on the treadmill. That might not be enough for some of you, that might be way too much for some of you. It doesn't really matter. . It doesn't matter what you do. As long as you don't give up. As long as you are having fun.

Here's a little tri-set for you to have a go at. (Apologise about the hair lock down problems) A1) Heels Elevated Banded Squat - working mid to lengthened range. Why the band? It creates more tension. Its applying that tension in the shortened range where the resistance would drop off at the top. A2) Uni Lateral High Row - working on getting the lat into it's shortened range. Here we hold an isometric pause to create as much force production through the lat milking it for what it's worth. A3) Glute Bias Split Squat - focusing on loading the glute in it's lengthened range. The band here again, will help add tension as you come up through the top position. Sets and Reps 3 ×12 Note: Progressively overload week on week by perfecting your form. Now is not the time to be worried about gaining weight! Over the past week I have seen lots of posts - some tongue in cheek - concerned about putting on weight being stuck at home with a house full of food in lockdown. I've been scrolling past ignoring these to date, but I'm mindful that this is feeding our diet culture, and for many increasing pressure to come out the other side of this with no weight gain or even a trimmer body. So I need to speak out... Health needs to be our focus right now - not body size! There's a pandemic. People are dying - and yes even those with trim, athletic bodies. I'm giving you permission: with all that is going on it's ok to relax, sleep in, watch Netflix, read, bake - whatever it is that you enjoy. If that's going for a local run, of course that's fine too. And it's OK to EAT no matter what your level of activity. Your body needs fuel whether it's going for a bike ride or sitting outside enjoying a book in the sunshine. Sure there are food choices you can make to support your immune system, like increasing fruit and vege and limiting sugar intake. And you can go for a walk or do some yoga to de-stress. But please make it about health, not weight. Don't be concerned if your body shape changes during this lockdown period. You're alive! Tie dye evolved in many cultures around the world. It is said to have entered Japan via China, focusing on the Chinese style of dress, which was interpreted in a Japanese fashion (Kimono), sometime around the 1600s. It became mainstream during the EDO period frm the 17-19th century! Shibori was originally clothing for poor. While the common and poor were barred frm wearing silk, they had to wear hemp and cotton which had a short shelf life, in order to save up money the poor often patched the garments and dyed them to give it a new look and that's when the repeated patching and tieing gave birth to the technique! Just a reminder from me and my shiny face to MOVE YO BODY! Social distancing is hard, stressful and all round not great for people’s mental health! BUT working out at home has been helping my anxiety levels A LOT! I was skeptical at first because I always said the gym was my “happy place” but now I’ve discovered my happy PLACE isn’t actually a place 😂 and you can get the exercise endorphins from ANYWHERE. I have loved getting creative with home workouts! @toneandsculptapp has so many to choose from but you could always go for a walk/run, do some yoga or my friends @mythrivingon @alicianfitness @krissycela @kristineafit @mellowfitness_ post so many! What a week it's been, I can't say I've really got ourselves into any kind of routine, if anything I'm learning my plans never go to plan! I still feel we're on an emotional roller coaster but I am starting to see the resilience in the kids that I can definitely learn from. Yes they fight, yes they get annoyed with each other but their bond is also growing stronger than ever. We're loving our nature walks, time in the garden but we all also need some space and this weekend we're going to make sure we all have a bit of that (albeit just in separate rooms!). The kids need some 1 on 1 time and I need some time to think about my business, what support I can give as a Pilates teacher as well as to my family and prepare my mind for the week and 'weeks' ahead. Home Workout - Les Mills Body Balance 🧘🏼‍♀️ . . For a girl who weights trains a lot and admittedly doesn’t stretch enough for her body... I thought i’d put some positives into the day by doing some body balance to help me and to use this time as recovery as well as to reach different goals. . . 嗨,大家好,我是SIND。 最近呢~因為種種人生規劃,導致BOYS出現「停滯現象」,雖然說是真的停滯了幾周,但我想提及的是我跟SHOU對於現階段的模式以及內心看待的想法,所以我們決定要有一些改變。 到現在我們也運行了快一年,其實我認為2020年會是苦盡甘來的一年,但就僅限於我自己。沒想到,大環境都是困在「苦」的階段。剛好,真的剛好,我自己的人生階段上,每當關關都難過的時候我都有一個刺青,每次去找何緯的時候,會聊到自己未來的編輯夢和他的刺青事業,最近一次,他說:「蛤!你的那個不搞了喔?你的編輯夢呢?」這句話讓我有點驚訝,他對於夢想的執著,好像連你的份也一起抓住了,見他蒸蒸日上的事業,我也只回「還沒放棄啦」。 所以我們決定找回初衷,日常的事物雖然固定且乏味,但我們依舊喜歡且脫離不了,以後我們打算隨時分享我們的「生活」,可能跟你/妳的沒有不同,但當鬧鐘響起一天開始,讓我們期待「生活」又要給我們甚麼驚喜。 最後,我一開始就把這裡當作是作品的集散地、發表的平台,所以最終等到我們從日常碎片中累積,收集螢幕裡的隻字片語,然後出版成冊。這不是自溺的合體,是我們想跟大家一同分享的喜悅。 / text:SIND cover design:SHOU #Boys #Dowhatyouenjoy

Cardio vs weights whats better for weight loss. In all honesty the training is not what matters when losing weight initially. Food consumption is everything. A lot of people shoot down cardio and tell people not to do cardio because they see weight training as being superior. In the long run having an increase of muscle in the body makes it easier to keep weight off due to the body burning more energy/calories because the body is fuelling the extra muscle. However most only say not to do cardio because they don’t enjoy it themselves. If you want to do cardio, then do cardio, do what you enjoy and don’t let others tell you that cardio isn’t good for weight loss. Burning more is what matters and doing cardio helps that. Generally weight training wont burn as much during a session than what cardio does but weight training does makes it easier to keep the weight off in the future. Cardio is good for the short term, weight training is good for the long term. Self-Care is not Selfish. Given our current situation and tonight’s announcements, it is essential. Practicing self-care enables us to take care of our physical, mental and emotional health. By taking care of ourselves, we are also better equipped to take care of others. Self-care should be something that energises us, not drains us.  Find what works for you – there are a multitude of options for physical, mental and emotional self-care 1) Find a form of physical activity you enjoy doing (for example: a walk around the block, handball with kids, or an at-home workout); 2) Find a way to have 15 minutes of mental stillness (there are plenty of meditation apps out there, or simply reading, colouring or just breathing); and 3) Connect emotionally – check in with your isolated family members (particularly our vulnerable) and friends. Sit down with the people you are under the same roof with and really connect. Nightly family dinners are a great way to do this. We cannot change this situation but we can change how we respond to it. Remember it is not selfish to ask for some time out and share the load with other people. If you don’t have someone else to share that load with, pick up the phone or message a trusted connection in your life.
