Happy Birthday to Pocket Ninja Strategies!
I started, Pocket Ninja Strategies, officially, 4 years ago April 1st.
It’s still sometimes feels a little weird for me to say things like “my business”, “client meeting”, “invoice”, and “rates”.
I always wanted to be a person who could say those things. I would look at people who had businesses, clients, meetings, invoices and rates and I would watch them wondering, “How do they do that??”. I would usually come to the conclusion that I don’t know enough to start a business and who am I to do that anyway.
Then I started on journey where I questioned everything in my life. I asked myself, what I really wanted in life, and then I went through the, often difficult, process of dismantling my beliefs that were in the way of me doing what I wanted. And I just took baby step, after baby step, after baby step – and now here I am.
What I learned through this process is that there’s nothing big or grand to figure out before you can start working towards what you want. There are just little baby steps, one little tiny baby step after the other, facing one little fear at a time. If you do little things you will eventually be at the top of the mountain, that once looked so far away.
Little and big things I did to just “start” included: reading books, taking self-development courses, dreaming about what I really wanted to do, writing down what I wanted (even though it was scary and seemed impossible), reading articles, getting advice, rejecting advice, creating a website (started very basic and is still very basic), talking about my ideas, looking at my strengths, believing in myself, facing my fears… and little by little I got there.
Today as I look at the next peak I want to climb to, I remember that I need to “just start” – something, anything, one little step at a time will get me to the top.
