Due to covid 19, our April is looking a lot different than we thought it was going to look.
Here’s what’s changed 👇🏻
🛒 Grocery budget going up, up, up. We increased this budget by 50%. Here’s why - we’re no longer eating from outside the home 2+ times a week, with warmer weather coming, we tend to drink more alcohol & we’ll be having Easter at home.
🐰 Easter travel budget has been removed. Every year for Easter, my parents, my husband & I, visit my brother & his wife (out of state). Sadly, that trip is cancelled. This means we don’t need to budget for extra gas money, extra tolls, eating out or entertainment for a trip.
⛽️ I’m not budgeting for gas this month. In all honesty, I think we’re going to be homebound all of April with the only 2 exceptions being going to the grocery store twice, throughout the month. We already have a full tank of gas so I don’t foresee needing more gas this month.
🚙 EZPass is same situation. We don’t get on the parkway to get groceries so I don’t think we’ll be on it this month.
💰 Our giving will go up. Now, more than ever, our frugality allows us to help those in need.
🍔 Our entertainment budget is going way down (and this budget is basically eating out). While we don’t plan on ordering in, my husband suggested putting money aside to either buy gift cards for restaurants we love or to put money aside so when this is over, we can get out and support as many of our favorite restaurants as possible (that our budget will allow).
💵 As always, I use the @everydollar app to create my budget each month and it’s totally free!
