I’ve been seeing this meme going around about a girl who didn’t want to spend $52.50 on a sweater from a small business, like mine.
I’ve also seen both sides of the debate putting their opinion in on it. And naturally, as an opinionated women, it’s my turn. 👌🏼🤣
I’m not afraid to get real 💁🏻♀️
✨In these last three years I’ve been open, someone here was possibly my only customer for the day.
✨Someone else may have been the ONLY order I received during a failed launch of new arrivals.
✨I may have had my butt saved when I accidentally overdrew my bank account needed to that extra $52.
You don’t know how much impact one order can make on a small business owner like myself.
A single order gave me hope to push for my dreams.
A single order for $52 doesn’t just help me overindulged in Carmel macchiatos at Starbucks- it also supplies diapers, snackies for my kids, & preschool for my daughter!
And on those magical days where my online sales break personal records or when I sell out of items from a new arrivals launch...what do I do?
Well- I do things like....
... bond with my daughter while we pick out hair bows online from someone like the mom you know down the street with her own start up hair accessories company.
... hop on poshmark and purchase clothing for my children from women trying to make extra money to feed their families or just have a legit side hustle to pay a couple credit cards off.
... take my husband for lunch dates during the week at family owned restaurants and ALWAYS make sure to tip atleast 20%...or more if I can afford it.
That $52 trickles down far.
For every $100 you spend on small business, about $68 will be used towards other small businesses and families.
It’s not about the sweater, girlfriend.
It’s about the impact we can make on eachother’s lives.
It’s about making another human’s quality of life just that little bit better. 🖤✨
