Courage over fear. Always. . . . A wall flip is a skill that I did probably 10-15 years ago, and was really struggling to go for yesterday. I broke it back down into wall runs and standing back tucks before I finally got my head in the game and got it done. Training as an adult has incredible benefits, but sometimes I sure do miss the blind courage of childhood.

Had the BEST day at @rhitritions Food For Thought Festival! It was such a fun and interesting day with so many amazing and inspiring people talking about a range of subjects. I’ve been in such a BAD mood this week (Some is Mother Nature) . But I’d like to think Mother Nature just heightens my “already there” feelings . And I’ve been ovveerrrrr it this week Even working out, I haven’t wanted to go🤷🏻‍♀️ My shin splints during orange theory REALLY tested my patience this week I didn’t want to eat right this week Long story short, I wanted to be lazy and just blob around everywhere . I allowed myself a few days of it, and a few days away from Instagram Because I honestly felt like I needed it otherwise I’d lose my mind . Would I actually lose my mind? No, probably not But I still needed it . We all need a break eventually, we all need to rest . So, I allowed myself that time But now, I meal prepped and fixed my diet again I dragged my frizzy head out of bed and made it to the gym (in some FIRE new leggings I might add🔥🔥🔥) . My point being, take the time you need But not too much, you’ll know when it‘s time to get back to your responsibilities and goals . Come back with a new determination to go after what you want . Out here making changes and pushing limits 🙌🏻 - Today I took myself out my comfort zone to do a HIIT class. Now normally I don’t like classes, I used to get frustrated I couldn’t keep up, I hated the feel of being watched and I hated the way you have to keep going but I surprised myself by actually HAVING FUN in the class! Alongside that I burnt more calories than my average gym session. Yes it was hard work, yes it got my heart racing but I loved the feeling of doing something good for myself and my body! 💪🏽 - Sometimes all it takes is pushing yourself out your comfort zone, to challenge yourself, push your limits and just do something different. Thought: I have been eating more mindfully (I don’t track anything) and disciplined to sleep 7 hours every night. Im surprised lately on how I can be awake all day without having a need for a mini nap or some energy boost substance keep me going (def needed all that in the past). Sleep + good food will be better than another substitute out there! I don’t even do the pre-workout stuff! *JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE* It took a lot to post this. Last semester of nursing school was hard on me mentally. I was depressed, stressed, and my anxiety was worse than it ever had been. I let myself go. I spent all of my time studying and worrying that I forgot to take time for ME. I was unhappy with my body and I started to notice my clothes getting tighter. I wanted to do something about it but I just didn’t know what or how. I took a leap of faith and signed up for an 8 week program which would teach me to count macros and guide me through training. I signed up at the downtown athletic club and walked in my first time CLUELESS. And I mean really clueless, y’all. Thankfully I have met some really helpful people at the DAC who have helped me and taught me. It’s been about a month and I have weight trained about 3-4 days a week. I started to add cardio and really noticed a difference. I really could not do it without my coach, Ally Montgomery. I got my meal plan and learned to count my macros on top of weight training. This is just over 11 days. YOU CAN DO IT SISTER. 💪💪👏🏻👏🏻
