Roasted Beet Hummus😋 Recipe: * 1 cup boiled and roasted beets * 3-4 garlic cloves * 1 1/2 cup cooked chickpeas * Juice of 1 lemon(adjust according to your preference) * 2 Tbsp tahini(skip if u don’t have tastes great without tahini too) * 1/4 th cup or 4Tbsp olive oil * Pinch salt * Pepper to taste Boil beets in water allow it to cool Peel and chop.In a pan add 1 tbsp oil .roast the chopped beetroot until u get nice aroma.and sauté garlic pods .. u can use raw garlic too.. Now add all ingredients in to the blender and blend until u get a smooth paste.if u have trouble blending then add 3-4 spoons of water. Allow it to chill for 2 hours in fridge . Tastes better when chillied. If properly stored will last for a week in fridge. Note:Taste and adjust seasonings as desired. This is peace. I am at peace when I am praying, reading, reflecting, learning. The amount of time and energy I put into my soul is far more than just doing workouts, eating plants, and reading books. It’s hours of analyzing sermons & my self developmental books & relating it all to my life and how it can change my outlook on things. Doing this has changed my life in so many ways and I can’t be grateful enough. Self growth has become my passion. You can listen to sermons, preachings, public speakers, audio books, etc. all day long, but if you don’t actually interpret what you are feeding your brain and apply it to your life, it is meaningless. Take time to learn more & most importantly learn more about yourself. Learn to sit with your feelings and accept/be okay with them. My times of peacefulness are times of growth. Feed your mind, body, and soul with positive energy if you want to live a life full of light& love. if you want to work toward your highest self you are going to have to put a lot of time and energy into it. Guys! Try this “Jamu” smoothie, it’s an Indonesian drink. It’s got tumeric and ginger in it which as you know I put with most things now. .. One of the most powerful healing herbs, turmeric is a rhizome or root (similar in form to ginger) that can be used fresh, or in dried powder form. Besides being a powerful anti-inflammatory, natural liver detoxifier and kidney cleanser, it’s also thought to have a host of health benefits including antioxidant, digestive, antiplatelet (decreases clotting), cholesterol lowering and anti-carcinogenic properties. Tumerics health benefits come from cucumin which you can get in tablet form. If you can’t find fresh tumeric you can get it in powder form! . . 125 g fresh turmeric root, (about 4.5 oz or 3/4 cup, roughly chopped) 20 g fresh ginger root, (a large finger sized piece) 2-4 tbsp fresh lime juice 1-2 tbsp honey, (or substitute maple syrup . . . Clean and peel turmeric to remove any loose skin or blemishes. Put it in a blender with sliced ginger root and 4 cups of water. Blend until smooth. Pour mixture into a saucepan and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from the heat and add lime juice and honey to taste. I used 2 tbsp of lime juice and 1 tbsp of honey, but I can see that more of either would be nice too depending on your taste. The best way to get vitamin D deficiency is from the sun. However during these winter months it is not always that easy. Thus, we have to rely on the vitamin D we were able to store up from the summer or the vitamin D we can take in through our diets and supplements. Unfortunately, there just are few vitamin D food sources as our bodies really were designed to get the vitamin D we need from the sun. Just 15 minutes of sun at mid-day in the summer is sufficient. Of course, this varies based on how much skin is exposed (darker skinned people may need more time), the time of the day (mid-day is best for vitamin D) Good food sources of vitamin D include fatty fish such as salmon, especially the wild salmon, tuna, mackerel, mushrooms, eggs and vitamin D fortified foods such as milk (any milk will do--cow, soy, almond, or coconut milk are all fortified). My favorite way to get vitamin D in the winter is from salmon. Just a small 4-ounce serving of salmon offers us 265% of our daily recommended allowance of this critically important vitamin. As vitamin D can be stored, just 2.5 servings of salmon each week would get us all of the vitamin D we need. When we take care of ourselves in the truest sense we are usually devoid of disease. Illness is not guaranteed. We tend to forget that our body, when we are in an optimal health state, doesn’t develop chronic sickness. Potentially cancerous cells are naturally taken care of. Inflammation is appropriate. We don’t have chronic pain. Things are in balance, and this balance is an environment that does not foster illness. When we do develop illness we hammer it’s symptoms. We cut out or burn or radiate the tumor. We slam inflammation with steroids. We tackle pain with pain killers. Meanwhile, what is causing all of these issues is ignored. Your wellness is TOTAL, it is made up of your mind, your physical body, your spirit, your connections. It is everything. Being in balance with all of these components doesn’t mean you focus on each specific factor at particular times.
