Bryce Harper: Pelvic Tilt
🔘 The pelvic tilt is an important movement pattern in all rotational sports. It’s a power move & a sign that they’re sequencing from their lower body to their upper body. -
🔘Your external obliques run from the ribs & attach your the pelvis. When they contact concentrically, they cause posterior tilt. -
🔘Bryce Harper has one of the most violent swings in baseball. He uses his powerful core to fire the trunk. Notice how the lines end up closer to each other at contact than at the beginning. -
🔘Inability to pelvic tilt is often associated with swing characteristics such as loss of posture, early extension, reverse spine angle, sway, and slide. This can cause kinetic rotation to be out of sequence, thus leaving gas (swing speed) in the tank.
