Two things... My pants make me still feel like I am keeping my tan from vacation lol! Other favorite part about workouts at home is that I can take my shoes off after lifting weights and walk around my gym! I would even imagine doing this anywhere! ••• I sometimes get asked what I do. Or if I’m a trainer on this page. I’m not lol. Basically, a few years back I wanted a future in fitness and started this account.📱I figured gathering an audience when I was young would help me out a lot in the future with how competitive the industry is. Long story short, I felt that (although health is still a huge passion of mine, and a large part of my life) I was called more so to teaching and ministry. 💓 I’ve definitely slowed down with this account, but my love for fitness has honestly only grown. 💪🏼 You don’t have to do something as a career just because your passionate awit. 🙆‍♀️ You can have multiple passions and change your mind and have more than one dream! ⚡️ Currently... well, technically I’m doing nothing because I got laid off my job and am stuck at home. 🤷‍♀️ BUT I would be working @indigo as a CER right now if it weren’t for this virus haha. I don’t plan on having Indigo as my forever job and I am going back to school in the fall; BUT if you’re on a gap year or wanting a good part time job, I had a wonderful experience with them this year! Spring this year is different... we get to watch from our windows 🤷🏼‍♀️ but for the first time in years the nature is actually breathing 😍⁣ ⁣ Less cars in the streets, less planes flying around, less pollution in general. ⁣ Maybe nature just needed this break. ⁣ ⁣ In weird times like these I try to see the positive side of things. That does not mean that I don’t have “bad” days. I think everyone has it, it’s normal, it’s human. But I’ve been trying to keep my sh*t together. ⁣ ⁣ The routine here has changed very much, even though I was already working from home, now hubby is too, so we have to share the spaces, not a big deal.. I’m actually thankful we have the privilege of keep working. ⁣ ⁣ I’ve been doing things I haven’t done in a very long time. Especially the part of sitting on my couch and watch one movie after another... basically slow down. I can’t remember the last time I did that before this social distancing campaign. ⁣ ⁣ I’ve been speaking to my friends that I haven’t seen in a while, FaceTime, WhatsApp video, webex, zoom, meet.. (thanks to technology!) more often.⁣ Now, why weren’t we doing this before? Crazy busy routines make us forget about possibilities of shorten our distances. ⁣ ⁣ It’s time to think about our actions, are we doing the right things? Let’s say for example when we travel.. what can we do better with our travel decisions? Perhaps be more conscious bringing a reusable bottle of water with us? Or maybe book more non-stop flights 🤷🏼‍♀️⁣ ⁣ Not just in travel but any subject. It’s time to evolve, time to dedicate ourselves to what matters... let’s use this in our favor. Kuarantine. • • How are you spending this time? I truly want to know! Ask people what they are doing with their commute time now. Ask people what they are doing with reduced hours & meetings. Ask yourself what you are doing with a little bit more time. with no social pressures in the evenings & weekends. • • • I’m an extrovert who loves to be left alone & locked inside. I can easily not leave the house on a typical weekend so this is still a very easy task for me 😼No social pressures & putting jeans on? Sign me up. (making light of the heavy situation) & doing my part. STAYING IN. • • My advice/ thought for today is for you to use social media as your resource. Use platforms like Instagram/ Pinterest/ YouTube/ And Podcasts to get your creative juices flowing. Watch how-to videos, listen to motivational words. Plan. Set goals. Set intentions. Learn something new. Pick up a new habit. Make lists. Chat with friends. FaceTime people at the end of the day. If you are not sure what to do with your extra time, Netflix & Hulu ain’t the answer. • • • Also, by now everyone’s roots are becoming more apparent (me), eyelash extensions down to the final 2 lashes, and nails are lookin long and crusty. Hey friends! If you watched my story yesterday you know something happened with the 1P Team Workout call on zoom. I think my computer was messin with me BUT I found out they did like 200 Burpees for time at the end of the call sooooooo I’m glad I wasn’t there after yesterday’s push-up challenge 😂😂😂 . Anyway, rather than calling it a loss I went ahead and recorded this at home lower body workout for ya! . Before getting into the workout itself I want to say something I recently noticed... a lot of us are at home right? What are noticing about the correlation between your commitment to your health, and time? Do you see that even without needing to technically go to work all day, you’re still showing up with legitimate excuses to not workout? Here’s the thing about excuses: there will ALWAYS be a new one. Maybe you’re tired... . Maybe you’re doing lots of house work so “that’s your workout” . Maybe you spent 5 hours on zoom calls for work or school . Maybe... just maybe... you’ve allowed yourself to be conditioned this way. And hey, that’s okay. Just recognize it and start small if you have to. . Get in a gallon of water a day . Orrrrrr just simply move your body for 15, 20, 30, minutes . Orrrrr get in a food tracking routine . OR! Reduce your soda intake little by little . It’s taken me years to get to this point, so don’t think you need to wake up one day and change your whole life style. Very FEW people who do that actually succeed, so I recommend you start small. What’s something you want to start with? For me, it was the gym. . I ate like literally whatever I wanted for the first year of working out. And slowly, I started filling more gaps as I hit plateaus and started getting more committed to this lifestyle. . Overall, it’s 💯% okay to start small. Don’t think you need to do eevvvveerryyyyything right off the bat 💙 . Here’s the workout! Complete as many rounds as possible in 45 minutes and practice good form on this one! 🏋🏼‍♀️ Romanian Deadlift x 15-20 🏋🏼‍♀️ Calf Raises x 25-30 🏋🏼‍♀️ Leg Raise Pulses x 25 🏋🏼‍♀️ Hip Thrusters x 20 🏋🏼‍♀️ Weighted Squat x 15 🏋🏼‍♀️ Lying Leg Curl x 20 . Finally, back in my natural habitat 😌🏋🏻‍♀️ After 7 months of not being able to go to the gym, I’m back and it felt amazing! (I was still working out at home but for me personally it wasn’t the same).
