This past week, Travis & Williamson counties issued shelter-in-place orders. Title, appraisers, & lenders have been deemed essential businesses. There is vague language that real estate professionals are essential and @abor_realtors issued a statement that agents should not show properties in Travis County and that showings everywhere are “highly discouraged.” So what does this mean for you?
Pending deals - If you have a property under contract, good news, you can still close! Many title companies are pivoting to allow electronic closings, mobile notaries and even drive up closings. Speak to your agent and title company about which option works best for you.
If you're a buyer - Set up a virtual buyer strategy session with me today! I'll connect you with lenders so you can get pre-approved for a loan. Download my app and get an idea of the type of home you want (link in bio). Take a drive through the neighborhood you're interested in and get to know the area. Now is the time to do your homework and get ready to buy when the shelter-in-place is lifted.
If you're a seller - I'm currently booking virtual listing appointments. We can talk about improvements and clean up you many want to do before listing, review market data and market your home as a coming soon listing!
If you're renting - If your lease is coming to an end, talk with your landlord about a short extension. If you are in a position where you need to lease a new property, you will likely have to do so site unseen. Contact me and we can talk through your options.
If you're an investor - There are still great deals to be had. Make an offer on properties site unseen, and you can then view the property during your option period.
