Improvement seasons work if you do 😌👊 - Although I’m still getting over the fact that Season A was cancelled and I wasn’t able to compete in 5/6 shows, I’m giving myself the constant reminder that show day itself is just the cherry on top of the cake. It’s the actual CAKE (a.k.a. the JOURNEY to stage) that matters most. - When looking at these two pictures all I can think about is the two years of work between them. Every. Single. Session. Every late night drinking pre-workout and eating protein oats on the bus after dietetics placement. Every workout before or after an exam, a lecture, a workshop, or working on the gym floor. Every strength or rep PB. Every time I set up a hip thrust bar 😅 Every meal I prepped or food I weighed. Every time I did a macro drop in prep. Every time I wrote in my log book. Every time I pushed through a tough set, rep, or workout, and proved to myself that I was disciplined and resilient. Every time I walked to the gym and practiced posing. Every gym @jack.radfordsmith and I trained in while on holidays, or when we even brought our own gym equipment to Stradbroke Island 😅💪 Every time I got uncomfortable and purposefully pushed up my body weight. Every time I bounced around to music before trying to lift a PB. Every podcast I recorded. Absolutely everything! - The improvements made during this time are simply a bi-product of the work done, and of course I’m proud of them! Happy Friday guys 💪 So today I thought we'd hit the legs with a little blaster that will make it hard to sit on the toilet the next day. - It's an EMOM so every minute you'll switch the movement and then repeat. E.g. Minute 1 = 6 Seasaw Lunges (Movement 1) Minute 2 = 6 Bulgarian Split Squats (Movement 2) Minute 3 = 6 Seasaw Lunges (Movement 1) Etc.... - Today's workout is a; 10 or 15 Minute EMOM of M1 • 6-8 Seasaw Lunges (Each Leg) M2 • 6-8 Bulgarian Split Squats (Each Leg) - If you don't have weights, I would either grab a backpack and fill that with things around the house, or just do it bodyweight. If you're going bodyweight, I would do 8-10 Reps on each leg. Rückblick. Einer der letzten Trainingstage im @body_power_weissenthurm bevor wir uns alle zum Wohl der Risikogruppe ins Homegym begeben durften. Auch jetzt heißt es weiterhin: Bleibt gesund und versucht die direkten Kontakte auf ein Minimum zu beschränken. Es geht uns alle an. Auch die vermeintliche nicht Risikogruppe ist hier in der Pflicht. Die Verbreitung eines Virus läuft nicht linear! Gesundheit geht vor. Und ehrlich: Den meisten von uns wird eine Training des Herzkreislaufsystems mit Sicherheit nicht wirklich schaden. Das Volumen bekommen wir dann alle schnell wieder zurück. Barbell Hip Thrust.... Glutes are good for more than filling out a pair of pants. They’re the largest muscle group in your body. .Barbell hip thrusts activate the gluteus maximus and biceps femoris (part of the hamstrings muscle group) more than barbell back squats when using estimated 10-rep max loads for each exercise. . The reason the hip thrust is so good at targeting your glutes is because your knees remain bent throughout the exercise. When the knees are bent and the hips are extending the hamstring musculature becomes inactivated which leaves most of the hip extension coming from the glutes. . By isolating your glutes, you’re able to increase your power, enhancing performance in exercises that require a strong hip drive, such as cleans and snatches, also improving stability through your hips and core. In essence, a strong, powerful butt makes for a strong, powerful athlete. . These exercises are now dream for me as I injured my lower back few months back. Was recovering slowly and then this lockdown has happened. While the situation is awful and it’s pretty easy to feel discouraged, there is absolutely nothing we can do to change our current situation which means we might as well accept it and make the best of it. Use the time you’re quarantined to get quaranTONED. (Omg Adam that’s so corny). My gf came up with it, not me...blame her.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ First, it’s very easy to get lazy now that gyms are closed. However, most of us have extra free time and it’s actually a perfect time to get some home workouts in and take up running, walking, jump roping, or some other cardio you can do in isolation. Personally, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the quality of workouts I’ve been getting with just my body weight and resistance bands.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Second, most of us are currently watching a lot more TV than usual which might lead to more snacking while we are stuck at home. However, without the ability to eat out and socialize, we are all in more control of the food we eat each day. It’s a perfect opportunity to get your diet in check and form good eating habits.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lastly, we are all stressed out and anxious. You’re not doing yourself any favors by worrying all day. This is going to last for several months. I love hearing about any mistakes I've made, and I want to make sure this guide is kept up to date. ost bodybuilding advice is misleading This handbook is the result of a year's research into what the latest science shows is the most efficient way to build muscle. It's for both men and women. It's primarily for beginners, but there's plenty of science-backed advice for intermediates too. I wrote this guide because much of the casual weightlifting advice is unsubstantiated or misleading. I can't blame bloggers for it, because some of the facts in this guide have not been broadly published outside of the scientific literature. As a result, this handbook contradicts some popular bodybuilding recommendations, including the myth that women have a harder time gaining beginner muscle, that exercise rest times should be kept to 1–3 minutes, that most body weight exercises are useful, that machine exercises are ineffective, and so on. Throughout this handbook, I support my claims by citing studies and showing you how to measure your weekly gains so you can confirm you're growing. Speaking of growth, if you're starting without muscle, you can grow it fast if you're diligent about eating, exercising, and sleeping. You can gain up to 12-15lbs (6.8kg) of muscle in 3 months when closely following a researched program such as this. (Afterward, muscle gains slow drastically.) These results are achievable for every man and woman. Having “bad genetics” is not a thing preventing beginners from gaining muscle.
