Stage 2 of my meal prep from this weekend is complete. This meal is 93% ground beef, Southwest salsa, feta cheese, and diced broccoli. These meals took me maybe 20 minutes to cook, and another 10-15 minutes to do the dishes afterwards. I love the flavor combo of the feta and salsa it came out really tasty. Not to mention look at how colorful the food is. Often times people eat with their eyes. Triglycerides are the most common fat in your body but they also come from food. They’re an easily accessible storage form of energy but when you eat excess calories, particularly carbohydrates, your triglycerides can sky rocket. Yes, carbohydrates can cause high levels of triglycerides!!! High triglycerides are problematic as they contribute to strokes and heart attacks! They can also be a sign of metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and hypothyroidism. Medications can also be a factor: steroids, beta blockers, hormone replacements, immunosuppressants, retinoids, etc. The best way to lower your triglycerides is to eat a low carbohydrate diet! Avoid sugar and refined carbs completely. Many studies have confirmed the benefits of a ketogenic diet on lowering triglycerides including a recent one published in the Journal of Diabetes Research in August 2019. They showed a significant drop in triglycerides in only 90 days. Ideally you want your triglyceride level to be under 100mg/dL and your HDL level to be higher than your triglycerides. We are all on a new trend. Everybody is proclaiming that fat isnt bad for you, which is an awesome place to be. With any trend, comes the extremists. I'm not talking ketogenic (as this is suitable for some folks and very effective), but I'm talking the carb shamers out there. Nutrition is a lot more complex than singling out a macronutrient as the God of all nutrients and claiming the other ones as garbage and insignificant. One from a while back but I’ve had loads of requests for a review because it’s recently been re released for a limited run: Tis the season and all that nonsense, I got so many requests for this limited edition flavour from @grenadeofficial carb killa Ginger bread flavour. Appearance: 🔹About average sized at 60g these come with a milk chocolate coating with a sweet white drizzle, a layer of crispies, a caramel layer, and a soft nought centre. Texture🔹: The centre is much softer and chewier than a regular carb killa more like the birthday cake flavour they released recently. This on has a layer of crispies which add a crunch and a caramel layer that gives them a great sticky quality. Taste🔹: Initially these are sweet with a great chocolate flavour from the coating but then the ginger slowly starts to come through, it’s adds a nice warmth to the flavour and pairs nicely with the caramel. I really like these but I can see them being a love it or hate it flavour depending on personal preference. Macros📊 Calories:219 Fat:8.2 Carbs:15.5 (fibre:6.2) Sugar:1.6 Protein:22.8 This flavour is also graced with those magic carb killa macros. It always impresses me how they manage to keep all the macro profiles very similar and sugar low. Still a decent amount of fibre for under 16 carbs. I like how they really went in on this flavour, their not trying to be subtle and there’s a good punch of ginger. Probably one of my favourite carb killas ever it’s a shame these are a limited edition. As a limited edition this is a damn good bar from a company that keeps knocking them out and they've got the formula right with this one again. 9.5/10 Good if you’re into chocolate covered gingerbread. Isso porque, com o dia a dia cada vez mais intenso e cheio de afazeres, as pessoas optam por fazer refeições rápidas, que geralmente são industrializadas e perdem muito em valor nutricional. Um estudo publicado em maio pela revista científica Annals of Intern Medicine alerta para a substituição da alimentação natural pelos suplementos alimentares. De acordo com os dados divulgados, a ingestão suficiente de substâncias como zinco e vitaminas A e K, magnésio e cobre, está relacionada com menores riscos de morte, mas isso só acontece quando esses elementos são absorvidos pelo corpo por meio de uma dieta saudável e equilibrada. 🔻 O grupo de pesquisadores avaliou cerca de 30 mil voluntários que participaram do Levantamento Nacional de Saúde e Nutrição entre 1999 e 2010, nos Estados Unidos. Eles relacionaram o uso de suplementos com os hábitos alimentares dos indivíduos. O estudo mostrou que pacientes que fizeram a suplementação de forma exagerada de cálcio estavam mais propensos ao risco de morte por câncer. E ainda, os que ingeriram vitamina D sem ser necessário também tiveram maior risco de morte durante o período em que foi feito o experimento. 🔻 Segundo a Associação Brasileira da Indústria de Alimentos para Fins Especiais e Congêneres (Abiad), os suplementos fazem parte da rotina alimentar em 54% das residências brasileiras. A maior justificativa é a necessidade de complementar a dieta. 🔻 De acordo com a editora do site SaudavelEForte, Gabriela Silva, “A alta quantidade de nutrientes e minerais no corpo pode acarretar alguns problemas de saúde, como a sobrecarga dos órgãos e alteração do funcionamento do metabolismo. Os exames é que mostram qual suplemento e a quantidade ideal para cada organismo. Por isso, não deve ser feito por conta própria”, explica. O ideal é consumir os alimentos da forma mais natural possível. Every cell, tissue, and organ in your body requires water to function properly! 💧 ⠀⠀ Many walk around underhydrated and feel the effects of low energy, pain, digestive discomfort, and cravings. Are you getting enough water?🤔 ⠀⠀ 👉Here is a rule of thumb for how much water to drink daily: Drink half of your weight in ounces daily. For example, if you weigh 160 pounds, you should drink 80 ounces of water daily (160/2 = 80). ➗ ⠀⠀ Your urine should be pale straw color. Dark yellow urine indicates dehydration and clear urine can indicate that you are drinking too much water, which can affect your electrolyte balance. ⠀⠀ Your water needs may increase if you are pregnant or sweating due to exercise or hot temperatures. Keep in mind that caffeinated drinks DO NOT count towards hydration, as caffeine can be dehydrating. ☕️

🌸 La routine beauté 🌸 Jour 1, après la prise de sang de ce matin qui s'avère être tout à fait normal, je suis allé récupérer le traitement ainsi que ma crème Dermalibour de chez #aderma à appliquer le matin. Il me reste une crème à la pharmacie mais celle-ci doit être préparée et je devrai l'appliquer le soir. Les sticks à lèvres étaient prescrits eux aussi par le dermatologue.
