Today was a bit emotional. I met a friend (Susie @junk.beaucoup) in Old Town Orange right in front of our old store, to pick up an item I had purchased. Don't worry, we practiced social distancing! Afterwards, I went by this house, my childhood home on Harwood St. So much is exactly the same..the hedge with the loquat tree growing through it, the huge camelia bush next to the porch, the redwood tree I remember our Dad planting. If you know Miranda Lambert's song, The House that Built Me, this is that house for me. So, I cried sitting in the alley, and then made it even worse by leaving there and driving by my Granny's old house, my high school, and Don & my first house on Wilson St. I guess thinking about my carefree childhood, my Mom and Dad, happy memories, and good old times made me long for life without the Coronavirus. Praying for everyone who is touched by this virus, praying for our doctors and nurses, and praying for happy, healthy, friendly, socially close days!! Counting my blessings, including Old Town Orange and how special it is to me. Staying positive and hopeful after a momentary lapse where I kinda fell apart!
