𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭: where the sternum and clavicle meet⁣⁣ 2. 𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐨𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭: where the clavicle meets the acromion (a projection off of the scapula)⁣⁣ 3. 𝐆𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭: the ball and socket joint of the shoulder⁣⁣ 4. 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐜 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭: where the scapula (shoulder blade) meets the thoracic spine ⁣⁣ The ball-in-socket 𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 has been compared to a golf ball (the head of the humerus) on tee (glenoid or concave portion of the scapula).🏌️‍♂️This joint provides 3️⃣ degrees of freedom to allow the shoulder to perform movements ranging from 𝘚𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 to 𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘩 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘥𝘪𝘱𝘴 and 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘤𝘭𝘦 𝘶𝘱𝘴.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Shoulder stability comes from the muscles that are involved with the shoulder complex. (take a look at the pictures above to get an appreciation of how the muscles stack together)⁣⁣ For example:⁣⁣ •The 4 muscles of the 𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐟𝐟 provide stability and maintain alignment of the shoulder joint when you move your arms. ⁣⁣ •The 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐨𝐢𝐝 muscles are important to move the arm to front, back and away from the body. ⁣⁣ •The 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐬 work to squeeze the shoulder blades together to prevent round forward and shrugging up toward the ears. ⁣⁣ •The 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐬 are a forgotten muscle of the shoulder complex, however play an important role in keeping the bar close during Olympic lifting and are often tight/weak on athletes.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Continued in comments

I self-medicated with alcohol every night for the past two weeks😢.⁣ ⁣ I have always struggled with my weight, I have always struggled with my confidence, and I have always struggled with failure...I have never struggled this much before though y’all. I know some of you may be in the same boat. ⁣ ⁣ There is so much u certainty, fear, negativity, and sickness going around. I haven’t been able to taste or smell for 12 days and now have a couch and a ton of congestion. I’m scared just like many of you...and I resorted to alcohol every single night. ⁣ ⁣ I’m not talking about getting back out drunk or completely abusing it, but I looked forward to it more than ever because I felt as if I had nothing else to look forward too. I decided yesterday I would change my mindset and take care of myself a little more. ⁣ ⁣ I started a new at home boxing program today and I am back to committing to my food freedom nutrition program (that does allow booze but I have to track it all and be honest with myself). I am worthy of feeling good and confident...I also need to be as healthy as I can be right now. That I can control. ⁣ ⁣ If you are like me and have struggled over the past two weeks, I see you and I get it. We will get through this and we will overcome. There will be light again...in the meantime you have to control the things you can control and I am so thankful my virtual gym peeps reminded me of that yesterday. ⁣ ⁣ I’m here for you and would love to help in any way that I can. I will be spreading so much light and love in our virtual community as well as on social. How many people would say they are risk adverse, or were at some point in their life? 🙋🏻‍♀️ . We fear taking risks, because we are afraid of the unknown - we like our comfort zones. But what would you say if I told you that you take risks every single day without even realizing it?! . You are ALWAYS taking risks. You risk getting in a car accident by driving to the store. You risk never finding love because you are too afraid to put yourself out there. You risk never finding true success because you are too afraid of failing. . You. Are. Always. Taking. Risks. But you get to decide if you are taking them proactively and intentionally, or passively and without forethought. . Risks are scary because you have to choose them. But life will continue to happen whether or not you choose what risks you take, so why not bet big on yourself and take the risks that have the potential to produce the most reward?? . 📸 Hiking the Kalalau Trail in Hawaii. . This photo is significant to me because I’d always been afraid to go to the rainforest. I have an extreme phobia of frogs and this hike meant a lot to me because it was part of the process of working on a lifelong fear. . I took a risk and the result? HOLD ON GUYS, THIS IS A LONG ONE Today I was thinking about where I was a year ago. It still blows my mind how much has changed I have watched people spend their time doing a job they don’t enjoy, they aren’t passionate about, and overall makes them unhappy. A year ago that was me I was a ‘play it safe’ kind of gal. Pick a decent job, with a decent salary, good benefits, and stick with it because it is ‘safe’. We all grow up day dreaming about what we want to be When we are young the sky is the limit & the possibilities are endless. Then something happened. We started to doubt ourselves. The world some how made our dreams seem too audacious. We start to think just because we do not instantly & naturally excel at something, we couldn’t possibly take it on Here is some good news. When we start something new, we all suck at first. Anyone out there you see killing it, sucked when they started too. You cannot compare your beginning to someone else’s middle At my previous career, my co-workers would have described me as successful, motivated, dedicated, good at what I did. But was I happy? Did I enjoy what I was doing? I mean, think about how many hours a week you spend at work? Its more than half your life! I watched co-workers ready to retire in their 50’s from a job they resented. They always say ‘money isn’t everything’, but do we truly grasp this concept? It took me about 6 months to work up the courage to quit my job of 4+ years and completely start over in a new industry. No reputation. No education in the field. No idea what I was doing The oh so common excuses, ‘I have put in so much time here, I don’t want it all to go to waste’, ‘I am comfortable here and secure here’, ‘I know what I’m doing’, ‘I spent a fortune on courses, education, licensing, etc. How silly is it that we put these excuses before our happiness? So stop, look around, really consider what you’re doing. Do you love it? Does it make you happy & fulfilled? If the answer is yes, I am so unbelievably happy for you. If the answer is no, don’t let ANYTHING stand in your way. Find your passion. Read a book about it. Watch a YouTube video about it. Make your road map. Put in work. Hustle.
