William and Kate have always believed in raising their children as normally as possible, and have mastered this by finding the balance between official roles and privacy. An element of this is official family pictures, which they release to mark special occasions✨
Prince George was born in July 2013, and to mark this, William and Kate released 2 official pictures taken shortly after. These images featured William, Kate, George and their dog Lupo in the grounds of Highgrove House. Some may speculate that these weren’t “official” pictures, but his christening pictures were released shortly after the baptism in October👦🏼. Princess Charlotte was born in May 2015, and unlike her brother, her first official pictures were not released until her christening in July. These pictures were taken by Mario Testino. Notably Prince Harry did not attend his nieces christening, as he was serving abroad as part of his military duties👧🏼. Prince Louis was born on St. George’s Day 2018, and like his sister, his first official pictures weren’t released until his christening. The pictures were reportedly taken within minutes of the service ending. But I’m not surprised given how incredibly photogenic this family is👶🏻. Each year, the Cambridge’s release their Christmas card image that featured the family. Though @kensingtonroyal did not officially release 2019’s image, it did make headlines for its modern and adorable depiction of the family.
Hopefully we get to see more new images of the Cambridge’s released this year!
