🌼 Aerobic Base Training Wk5 🌼 My ankle has healed up and aerobic base training is progressing. Runs aren't as slow as when I started this process so I'm pleased. 5am starts again now as it gets hotter. Welcoming in the weekend with @lesleymacg for some #parkrun action. Better conditions than recent weekends greeted the group. Although I wasn't feeling it today, I've been using these runs to push up my tempo. I gave what I had and came in just on 22 minutes, marginally short of my home course best. Friday swim - what was supposed to be an active recovery after a busy week turned out to be a pretty good workout . Went to crown pools tonight instead of my usual pool. 25m instead of 18. I didn't think it would make such a difference but it bloody did! The first 800m were quite a struggle and it took me a while to get in the swing it . The remaining 1200m flew by. It couldn't have been that bad as I got my fastest 400m @ 7:28, fastest 1000m @ 21:44 and Fastest 2000m @ 45:46 . Think I might carry on swimming here for a few weeks just to see how I get on. ❤️Start Each Day With A Grateful Heart❤️🏃‍♀️🍁❄️💥Feeling really grateful to be running today. Thought I almost ripped my glute/ham/hip out of socket yesterday going for an easy run on the treadmill. Just goes back to being really careful with your running body & not pushing through any dysfunction. Yesterday was a flashback to my car accident March 2016. I had rear-ended a taxi van in traffic & in doing so slammed on the break locking my body into the seat along with jamming my right hip in socket. I walked away from the accident & didn’t have any pain that day, but a few days later I was running on the treadmill & suddenly my hip locked up. I was in the most excruciating pain & could barely walk. Everything hurt. It was one of the most painful things I have ever experienced in my life along with thinking I would spend the rest of my life with a bad hip. It was devasting. The thought to when I would be able to run again wasn’t even a thought to when I would be able to walk normal again. After a few months of PT, Chiropractic & Massage, I was finally back running healthy again. Yesterday was the first time I have had the exact same scare but in my left hip. It was the exact same feeling & scared the 💩 out of me😂😂😂like seriously though. Today it is extremely sore but thankful to do my long run with only minimal pain. After a couple easy days hoping to be back running 100% healthy & injury free again!! My shattered dream of Atlanta in February 2020 flashed before my eyes but I am ok!!! All good! Feeling grateful. Another milestone day 🎉 and 15 days until I've ran a whole year 😮, sounds crazy to say that and there is something special ✨ planned for day 364 and 365, but todays run 🏃 was around my local area in Leigh 🏢. This is the kind of stuff that makes me feel like we are on the right track at Go Run Vacations! Mat ran his VERY FIRST HALF MARATHON this past weekend. I am so proud of this guy, and we are so happy to have him coming back to camp this summer! Not only has he become a great friend, but he crushed his half. Ran faster than his goal time of 1:40! ⁣ ⁣.⁣ ⁣Here is what Mat had to say:⁣ ⁣…………⁣ ⁣3 months ago I attended a run camp with @gorunvacations as the “non-runner” spouse of my “real-runner” wife. I was thinking - “Running camp? Like a vacation where you go running? Nah, I like not running.” 😂 But I left inspired, with many new friends, who encouraged me to think that maybe I could join their club too. ⁣ ⁣I signed up with the world’s best running coach @michael_crouch88 (yep, I didn’t know that was a thing either) and 3 short months later, here I am running my first half marathon in 1:39.50. A 7:36 pace. AND my wife @shawgal ran it with me the whole way. ⁣ ⁣It was amazing having her encourage me throughout the race. During this time, while our body is intent on recovering from this stress, we can be do low intensity session as easy run so to help recovery processes and train them on other sides. Unlike workouts, the slow run has long-term benefits because it improves the "aerobic base" and also improves the economy run. • Therefore is very important to optimize the recovery processes between workouts so as to maximize performance, get the most benefit from workouts and not falling into overtraining. 💘 📹 Created and don't get forget follow : @coldpieceofwork Thank you very much ! 💞 ----- I’ve never taken any of my marathons seriously because for me it all comes from the inside. To keep going for a 50 km or more it takes a lot more than physical (willpower for those of you still guessing). For me yoga a few years back was boring. But I don’t know somehow that’s the only thing I’ll be doing while for the marathon now. I combine a lot of with a little running. The only time I run is when I need to keep a track of TOF (time on foot). To me doesn’t matter because anyway you’ll have to do a 1000 km in total before you can actually run a 100 km. Usually what goes on in my when I’m at the starting line of any marathon is “What did I get myself into?!” And I am a person who would be so but inside is a hurricane of “I KNOW I HAVEN’T PRACTICED ENOUGH !!” But the best part about is that you get to eat a lot of chocolates and (okay energy gels don’t always taste that good). Okay..... I sometimes also lie that I have practiced enough when all I did was sleep (the yoga part is always true tho). Honestly Delhi is really hot for me to be running anyway. But hey... I still can help you with running because I just know how to prepare well tho I don’t really that myself. Yes, this is the color of the sky today🌫☁️🌫☁️🌫☁️ OrangeTheory signature workout today: Catch Me If You Can. You essentially have to have run a certain distance by a certain time to continue. The final checkpoint is 2.8 miles at the 20 minute mark, and then you run as far as you can for two more minutes. I ran 2.48 miles in 20 minutes… which meant I was eliminated at the 20 minute mark because the cut off distance for that time was 2.5 miles. But I made it further than last time I tried! I’ve never considered myself a fast runner and short distances are the hardest for me! 💃 Also did some abs and posterior chain work. #tgif

A 30 min workout is 2% of Ur day, so what's your excuse???🙄😱🎉 . . I've an assignment due for Uni, a forthcoming teaching inspection and the usual teaching, prep and marking.... I've two kids that need to be fed, washed and socialised!! I've housework and dinner and groceries etc .... . . Ok, you get it, I'm busy!!!!! . . Driving home from work, I was so torn! I'm tired, I don't have a lot of time! My mum collected the kids at 1pm and 3pm, so I'm sure she's ready for a break! But I stopped at our very small National Trust Woods! Talking of accomplishments: As a runner, have you ever sat down alone somewhere and think of how far you've come. ? Sometimes, and I mean not even sometimes but all the time, you should at least look back to see how far you've actually come. For me it works wonders all the time. Its not always thinking how far you still got to go. Or how much work you still got to do to improve. Appreciating every little step you take forward. And looking back to see how badly you wanted to be where you are at now. Progress is always PROGRESS! My fastest 1k is 3:14. And there was a time I could only doubt myself and think No, it ain't possible. But every time I fell down, I picked myself up again. And Never Ever Gave Up on myself. That's how I got here. This is a proof that we can always do Better than we think. I am proud of where I am now. And still working to reach those goals.
