Foster home update!
Our main man, Dorito, showed up at the door step of one of our carer's. He was starving and injured and a vet checkup showed that he was FIV positive.
Feline Immunodeficiency Virus cats need to be kept inside for their own safety and to reduce disease transmission. It affects roughly 14-29% of cats in Australia but a diagnosis is not as scary as it seems!
There is no risk to humans, vaccinations are available for your feline friend, and diagnosed cats still live happy, snuggly, and long lives!
For 7 months Dorito was loved in our foster care but no one wanted to take home this love bug- until he found his soulmate! @doritotheginger found his forever home and quickly worked his way into his dads heart. They’re now inseparable and can’t imagine life without one another! They’re, to quote his new dad, "best friends, companions for life". His dad even FaceTimes him when he’s away!
We at SA Cat Rescue love hearing your adoption success stories- please get in touch if you want yours shared.
And if you’re looking for a love as perfect as Dorito and his dad let us know! We have some kittens and cats available for adoption and always work hard at finding your purrrrrfect match.
