When was the last time you screwed up? Me I screw up EVERY DARN DAY I SCREW UP IN SOME WAY! Sometimes it’s BIG things like investing money in the wrong thing, or letting someone down on a promise and sometimes it’s something as simple as just trying to do too much and ending up so overwhelmed I feel like my head might explode! But seriously if you’re still dwelling on something that you see as a screw up (actually just you being human) then I GOT YOU!!!! - Because one I know to be the absolute TRUTH is you can’t change what already happened and the longer you stay stuck in that place of feeling resentful, annoyed, regretful, ashamed looking for someone else to blame and all the other wonderful emotions it brings up the more it holds you back and the more likely you are to make crap decisions because you are basing them off how crappy you feel about YOU. So YOUR POA needs to be to move into owning your shit asap. (owning shit could be as saying yes I ACCEPT I did that or getting therapy or help to sort out why you keep repeating the same humanisms over and over) So use these simple steps to help you navigate through whatever situations you have come up and think of every single screw up as an opportunity to learn and grow, an opportunity for you to commit to doing things differently in the future. And the most important piece if this puzzle is to Forgive yourself. Shaming yourself won’t help you move forward. Failing or screwing up is an action so you ‘failed at something’ or ‘you screwed something up’ does not then translate into you being a failure or a screw-up, it is not a personality characteristic IT DOES NOT DEFINE who you are. Are you a high achiever? Do you strive for excellence? Do you only rest when you feel you ‘deserve’ it because you’ve been productive or done enough on your to-do list? This is something I’ve always struggled with. I have always strived for excellence and been obsessed with self-improvement. Sometimes it takes over my life and I forget to rest and put other things that are more important to me, like relationships and self-care, first. My dad has always been a workaholic and my mum a perfectionist. If this is something your parents modelled to you as a child, it’s likely that as an adult you continue to model this pattern of behaviour. Also, as a child, when I first moved to the UK at the age of 4 I couldn’t speak any English. I had to work harder than other students to ‘prove myself’. This limiting belief is something I wasn’t aware of at all until I started my own journey of self-discovery and self-love. But it was driving my behaviour. If this sounds like you, have compassion for yourself. Give yourself time to rest. Rest is your birthright - you don’t have to ‘earn it’. Listen to your body, what is it that your body needs today? But, most importantly, you can’t change what you don’t notice so take the time to invest in your own journey of self-discovery and self-love. Which limiting beliefs are driving your behaviour? I love getting up early on a Sunday morning, it’s quiet, coffee, meditation works well to gather my thoughts. In this time we are experiencing right now, many people are struggling with their fears, stress of what is going on and the future. Our thoughts play a part on how we emotionally can deal with those thoughts and feelings. Those that often appear to be doing well at a challenging time are often the ones that are also not coping inside but being strong for their families. It’s taken a lifetime for me to let go and understand we really are more than our thoughts and the amount of energy taken to feel worried on any level is the same as telling yourself better stories. Remember a beautiful lotus grows from mud, it does not and would not grow from marble! Transformation into more awareness, compassion, creativity, beauty comes from emerging from the mud. Try to watch your reactions and thoughts. I saw last week how a grandma was lonely so her grandkids all did a drive by her house as she stood on the front lawn waving to them. It was moving to see them keep doing that for a bit, a safe simple act of compassion and thoughtfulness, unlike the families to busy to even ask how their parents, grandparents are at the best of times, let alone during this pandemic. Finding compassion, letting go of what you can’t change. But you can change your thoughts and your inner world. If something doesn't work out the first time, you often have the option to try again; often many times over. • Don't be afraid it didn't work out the first time. When you started your were a novice, the second time you try you will have picked up new skills, or a new attitude or mindset or be armed with more experience. • If its important to you or its a step that you know will catapult you forward to where you want to be, take another shot, take that shot as many times as you need to. • Remember what it was like learning to drive 🤦🏾‍♀️ Some people pass straight away but a massive percentage of people dont. For some reason we create this expectation that if we don't pass first time we are doomed to failure! I actually passed 4th time around. I could drive, I just doubted my ability to accomplish the dreaded TEST, my mindset sabotaged my own success. • But I was determined to pass, I built up my confidence and my let go of my anxiety and I did it. How many times have you done that. • I remember my ICT test a Uni, I had to take 3 exams to pass that damn thing. I had no choice I had to push forward to get to the next level and progress in my studies. Why would I throw my whole degree away because I failed the first or the second time 🤷🏾‍♀️ • Don't be that person that says I 'just can't do it, I tried and it didn't work' you know that's not true. If there is one person that has accomplished it, its proof that it's possible for you too. Stay focused, fix your attitude, improve your mindset and do the WORK. • There's no rush, there's no expiration, try again and again until you've got it 💜

I have always believed in the power of numbers and throughout my life, my community has been immensely beneficial to me on an emotional and spiritual level. Research has proved that having a support system has many positive benefits, such as higher levels of well-being, better coping skills and a longer and healthier life. Studies have also shown that social support can reduce depression and anxiety. This particular photo was taken with a group of amazing women at one of my yearly retreats from which I have such wonderful memories. I always conduct my programs in groups so the individual can reap the benefits of the collective. A 1993 experiment conducted by the U.S. Institute of Science, Technology and Public Policy found that violent crime in Washington DC, the "murder capital of the world," declined by 48% after a group of global volunteers came together in collective meditation. 🗣 So. Much. Wisdom. . 🙌🏼 “I know that when I am emotionally triggered I am not in the present moment. My body has actually gone into past trauma and I am in a state of wound re-enactment. This causes me to be clouded by my pain and prevents me from perceiving the current situation accurately. . “... the 90 second emotion rule. Which explains that when something triggers an emotional response, our body goes into full alert. Yet the complete release of these chemicals being totally flushed out of our system, this happens in less than 90 seconds. . . “Again, you can change the course of your reaction to stress in 90 seconds. In this concept, neuroanatomist say that when we’re hit with a stressful situation, regardless of what it is, we should allow ourselves to observe the surrounding emotions for a full 90 seconds. As those chemicals are flushed through the body it puts us on full alert. For those chemicals to totally flush out of the body, it takes 90 seconds. This means that for 90 seconds you can watch the process happening, you can feel it happening, and then you can watch it go away. After that, any remaining emotional response is because we are in an emotional loop. Retelling the story in our mind, projecting into the future and imagining what ifs and/or traveling back in time to replay a past scenario that the current situation reminds us of. . As an Intuitive Sensitive I know that I am not able to access my intuition, guidance or clear instructions when I am in a stress response... This spoke to me today. @heatherllove posted it and it’s so timely. THIS IS A SOBERING TIME. If you don’t come out with a book or a class or an invention... you’re ok, my loves. There is no pressure except what you place on yourself. So don’t let #selfsabotage put you in a hurried and over anxious state. And certainly don’t let others tell you what you should be doing. Do what brings you joy. We’ve never experienced anything like this in our lives. So, joy for me is tuning into @dnice tonight for nonstop music. It’s a few days after the 1st of the month and bills are due. Some people didn’t have the luxury of deferring anything. Some people did not qualify for unemployment. Right now some people are just trying to comprehend what is going on and the entire world is impacted. That’s a heavy thing. So, that being said: Can you just take a minute and give yourself a hug? Stop what you’re doing right now and hug yourself. Love on yourself. Be sincere with it. This pandemic is astronomically astounding. And there is no normal. Normal went out the window. So however you grieve the loss of what was and try to make sense of what is... it’s your choice. That’s why taking a break from all of this may be key to your mental and emotional stability. LET ME KNOW YOU’RE TRACKING BY LEAVING A COMMENT. I love ya where ever you are. I don’t have to know you to know that you matter and you’re important and you can simply be human today. You don’t have to have it together or even to appear as such. “6. I’m grateful for the sound of that lawn mower outside of my window. It’s something that’s normally irritating on an early Saturday morning but today it reminds me that I have ears. That my auditory capabilities are at 100%. Hearing that lawn mower means I’m at home in my own room, in my comfortable bed & not in a hospital or hooked up to a ventilator somewhere fighting to survive. Thank God for that.” • I’m pretty good about keeping a gratitude list. Sometimes I write it before I go to bed, or I might do it it the morning before I get out of bed, or other times I’ll write it in the middle of the day. I’m not tied to a specific “routine” about WHEN I get it done, just that it GETS done. Especially during times like this. The above was #6 of what I wrote in my list today. I went to bed looking at old videos of Málaga & Madrid & Marrakech & Bangkok & Lisbon (and other places I’ve been) last night. It made me happy & I thought about how sitting next to a baby on a 14 hour flight used to be the “worst thing ever”, HAHAHA!! My, my, my, what a little bit of perspective can do for us all!! 🤣🤣🤣 • Sometimes we get so busy missing the BIG things that it’s easy to forget the “little” things that really matter—the things we STILL have. Today, I’m REALLY grateful for my hearing. I can listen to The Bee Gees & Bill Withers while I work & hell—I might even listen to some Moroccan Youyou too! 🤣 (Google it). Happy Saturday, friends.

⁣CONTINUED — Behaviour change part 3:⁣ ⁣ From my last two posts we wrote down the behaviour we want to change.⁣ Then we wrote down the narrative we have with ourself that road blocks us from making that change.⁣ ⁣ Next, to successfully change behaviour, we have to know what the target is and we need to clearly see it. Meaning, the goal needs to be specific, measurable, attainable (small changes that are under your control — you don’t rely on anyone else), rewarding and have an end point — putting an end point on a goal gives it a clear target.⁣ ⁣ Write down the following:⁣ - set one to three goals and identify when, where, how often, and under what conditions the new behaviour will occur. I’ll use unhealthy eating as an example here:⁣ ⁣ Goal: to replace unhealthy eating with healthy eating or alternate activity to avoid emotionally eating unwanted foods.⁣ ⁣ Remember: small successes lead to enhanced self-efficacy so a gradual change in behaviour is more likely to result in desired outcomes.⁣ ⁣ How: I’d start small. If the eating behaviour is happening daily I’d make the goal “replace unhealthy eating with healthy eating two days this week”. ARE YOU SELF SABOTAGING? ⠀⠀ 🤦🏼‍♀️I know for sure I just did! For some reason, yesterday I thought it would be a GREAT idea to go for a run. Why?! I knew full well I shouldn’t be running but I completely gave into that little annoying voice in my head saying one tiny run wont hurt me.... EH-HEM WRONG! I totally over did it and it hit me like a ton of bricks afterwards. I was draineddddddd. My body was so physically fatigued I had never experienced anything like it! ⠀⠀ 💡Then I realised, the biggest obstacle in my recovery is myself. My results and whether I get better or not depends on my actions - I hope I didn’t just ruin everything 🙁. ⠀⠀ 🤔It got me thinking of all the other ways we can self-sabotage by doing something that isn't allowing us to recover... ⠀⠀ 🔸Still working out? (yup, I've a big red cross for this one). 🔸Filling up on fruits/veggies rather than calorie dense foods? 🔸Drinking lots of coffee’s/caffeinated tea rather than eating? 🔸Eating according to the clock rather than when hungry? 🔸Not allowing yourself to overeat?
