As aquarius season is ending soon, I thought I'd share a little about my favorite Aquarius Sun Uncle. My (great) Uncle Paul was a fascinating person. I only got to see this photo of him in his youth this year on my birthday and I'm so glad its still around. I had a really magical childhood. He played a large role in those early memories, with his jokes and storytelling on my Nahnah and Grandah's back porch. He was also a (playing) cardreader and quiet mystic. He died when I was still a kid. The old house with all the physical items that reminded me of him (and other important relatives who are also gone) burned up. I'm so grateful I still have my Nahnah and her stories, her comfort food, and her magic. My little one gets to know her and hear her retellings. She is still so creative and has made him so many babies, costumes, and soft toys just like she did for me. Some times it feels like so much is lost. There's also a lot to be grateful for and I try to remember that.
Anyway, my Uncle Paul has been on my mind a lot lately. I think there is mysticism in every family if you look hard enough. I'm fortunate that I don't have to look too far back to find it. A lot of magic used to just be called medicine so the grannies of Tennessee (even those who would never use that word) definitely count, too. I've been working with this ancestor check-in spread every week. Really, I think when you get the nudge to connect and do it, then its the right time. I believe our well ancestors are always available in some way. So, slide over to see the spread and use it in your practice if you feel inclined. I like giving offers and sending prayers before sitting down to do this kind of work. Gratitude + respect goes a long way with my folks. 🍓
