Churros have long been one of Mexico’s favorite treats! You may not be able to order ours, but you can surely make this delicious dessert from home. Below, find our recommended recipe 😋❤️ All you need is:
1 Cup of Water, 4 Tablespoons of unsalted butter, 2 Tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract, ¼ Teaspoon of salt, 1 Cup of all-purpose flour, 4 to 5 eggs, Canola oil, for frying, ½ Cup of sugar, and ½ Teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon!
Here are some quick directions:
In a saucepan, heat the cup of water, the butter, the sugar, the vanilla, and the salt over medium-high heat until the liquid starts to bubble! Add in the cup of flour and give it a strong mix! Next, remove from the heat. Add 4 eggs, one at a time, stirring each one well. The dough should now be soft and glossy. Then, you'll want to move the dough into a pastry bag (with a star-shaped tip.) Pour 1-inch of canola oil into a deep pan and heat over medium until you see tiny bubbles. Carefully put the dough into the oil, forming 6-inch tubes, with spaces between each. Fry, turning once, until golden brown on each side. Drain the oil. Repeat with the remaining dough. Finally, top it off with sugar and the cinnamon!
