When's the last time you did something for yourself? 🤔 ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ My guess is its been too long! You have a million things that need to be done, each day, so you put everyone in your 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 life first and yourself on the back burner. I get it, I am so guilty of doing this way tok many times. 🤷‍♀️ I don't know about you, but I have a hard time telling anybody no. Bought these pants a size bigger to allow room to grow 💪🍑 . . When I first thought up that one liner, I thought wow, I’m just so witty. I should have my own show 😆 And then I thought about what a good metaphor this is for life. Finished my nutrition chapters and quizzes! Now onto my practice exam then the final exam! Gaining weight purposely, isn’t any easier than losing weight. But just like fat loss, gaining weight, especially muscle weight, doesn’t happen overnight. There’s nothing to be scared of. If you want to change you can’t keep doing the same things and expecting different results. Taking the easy way out all the time because you’re scared to get uncomfortable isn’t going to create the change you want to see in your body. If you’re already fairly lean and want to build more muscle, doing a pile of HIIT style workouts and eating less isn’t going to get you there. Restricting carbs and just going to the gym every day isn’t gonna get you there. You need to eat food, especially carbs, and you need to train with a purpose. You need to have rest days! You need to be consistent and patient. Focusing on strength going up in the gym instead of on what the scale says is going to help you heaps. And eventually you won’t care so much what the scale says because you’ll learn that the number on the scale has very little to do with how you actually look. Ps. Two years between pics and I don’t have any pics of me in a bikini before because I didn’t wear them. ~Joints Shouldn't Hurt~ I wanted to send a quick reminder that exercise should not cause joint pain. You shouldn't have to foam roll for half an hour to get ready for exercise. This is not how our bodies should work. You are made for locomotion for movement. 🇬🇧 Working hard on my deficit, here with 210kg/463lbs & 220kg/485lbs on the bar ... I really intend to be in good shape to start competing in a few months, as you can see i removed the belt and the straps, going raw like an ape ! PS: i'm still waiting for news concerning my liver but the echography removed most of the really bad stiff out of the equation ! 🇧🇪 On tape a fond dans les déficit, avec ici 210kg/463lbs & 220kg/485lbs sur la barre ... Buenas noches deportistas míos💪🏼💥 ¡Espero que hayáis pasado un buen finde y un buen inicio de semana!😱 . En fin, para aclarar dudas, soy de Castellón y actualmente estoy viviendo en Valencia en un piso de estudiantes, por motivos estudiantiles📚 Este es mi tercer año viviendo en el piso y para que mentir, es más viejo que viejo😂 Pero le tengo cariño y sé que cuando me vaya, le echaré de menos😱 El grifo de la cocina suelta agua, los sofás del salón parecen piedras (literal que me dormí y me quedé enganchada de la espalda JAJAJA), la tele tendrá unos 200 años, unas cuantas luces no funcionan y si enciendes dos electrodomésticos a la vez, saltan los plomos🙃 ¡Es un desastre! Pero es el desastre en EL QUE VIVO y me ENCANTA, con sus cortinillas de mariquitas y vecinas escuchando radio María😂 . Así que, para el resto de estudiantes que estén en la misma situación, sé que ahora no os hace nada de gracia, pero algún día os reiréis de ello, dadle una oportunidad🙏🏼 . Training a full contact combat sport can be challenging. Especially in a male dominated academy. With different people and different personalities, each with their own fires to put out off the mats. At times, tempers flair. I believe it was Carlson Gracie who said, "Don't fight the person, fight his moves." This has really stuck with me. Someone once told me that I am always in control. Whether I win or lose, I get to choose what I do next. Then I was told that everything is my fault. If I hurt my partner, it's my fault. If I hurt myself, that, too, is my fault. And now we're back at, I'm always in control. #jiujitsulessons I'm reminded of a time when I was knee-barred. I hadn't tapped to anyone in a while, so my ego was bruised. Of course, I blamed him. But reality was, I didn't know the escape. He had me but I waited to tap so I got hurt. #Pride . That situation, tho, taught me the kneebar. To defend a move, I must know that it's coming. This is a privilege on the mats. Not so much on the streets. It was my failure that actually caused me to grow. Growing brought me a little closer to my teammates. Most of us have learned to trust each other because without trust, fear will come. When fear dominates I die. Jiujitsu is raw. It's honest. It refines you: your thinking, your attitude, and your reactions. It teaches me to become aware of my opponent but, most importantly, myself. So, I leave my mess on the mats because that's where my blood, sweat, and tears liberate me. Thats where I become #FREE.
