As I moved through asana in @kates_practice this afternoon, I sought presence through my breath but could not help but notice the dark clouds moving through the damp sky outside the @minneapolisboulderingproject windows. Inside the studio is warm and lovingly humid. Moving and breathing with friends in a space that often feels like home, I close my eyes in belly down savasana and am taken back to moments of my youth spent with my arms cradling my face, feeling the heat of the wooden planks of this pier on my chest. Peeking down through the cracks watching the waves crash from the wake of boats and every once in a while getting splashed through the cracks. A welcome relief from the intoxicating Carolina heat. Waiting patiently for the air to cool and sky to darken rolling in the daily afternoon storm, while pretending to nap and listening to giggles and feeling the soothing pitter patter of my cousins tiny feet reverberate through through the boards.
Sunny days are coming my friends. We made it, once again.
