ATHS CHALLENGE: Throw it like Kelsey 🏀 Because she is a world champion in the javelin, so we want some of that power and strength!👊🏼💪🏼 Find a wall, find a ball and then go for it! Copy the rotational movements that Kelsey is doing, and make up some of your own. Standing, kneeling, rotating side throws, overhead throws, and more. Do 5-10 reps of each throw, and a few sets overall. Great for the arms, upper body & core. And great fun!! Tips: Kelsey’s using a weighted med ball, but this will work just as well for the kids with a basketball, netball or soccer ball, positioned a bit further back from the wall. Follow @runtasticworld for more pictures . . 📸@corri_curly ・・・ Questa settimana è tornato un mio vecchio nemico - la periostite. 😔 La periostite è un'infiammazione della membrana connettivale che avvolge la parte esterna della tibia. L'infiammazione porta dolore nella zona tibiale interna, soprattutto durante o dopo gli allenamenti. Ho già avuto la periostite due anni fa e mi ha dato davvero tanto fastidio. Non sono riuscita a farla guarire per 6 mesi. Smettevo correre per una settimana o due, ma il dolore tornava subito dopo il primo allenamento. Mi sono dovuta fermare due mesi per guarire. Adesso sono consapevole che il periostio è il mio punto debole e mi viene male se aumento incautamente il chilometraggio settimanale. Se sento qualcosa fuori norma, prendo subito le misure di emergenza, abbasso intensità di allenamenti e passo a cross-training. Questa settimana sono forse stata l'unica persona in Italia che non è rimasta delusa per la sospensione delle gare fino al 3 aprile. Avrei dovuto correre la mia prima mezza maratona italiana il 29 Marzo, ma ero già preoccupata di non riuscire a prepararmi a causa dell'infortunio. Even on quarantine we can still get bouncy! Sprinting incorporates vertical and horizontal forces. As strength coaches and athletes we spend countless hours training one (vertical) and not the other (horizontal). An easy no equipment way to work on that horizontal force production is through the use of bounds. In the videos above I demonstrate a couple of bound progressions starting with two arm bounds to single leg bounds. While bounding athletes want to focus on driving the foot down and back. Getting a 2 for 1 deal here going barefoot. Our shoes deplete our foot strength and possibly can lead to the dropping of our arches. Barefoot training increases foot strength and ankle stability. But what is running on an empty stomach best or should you eat breakfast first? It comes down to timing, effort, and what kind of fuel you prefer. ⠀ Утро мое любимое время дня, следовательно я люблю наслаждаться вкусным здоровым завтраком до или после тренировки. Но как всё таки правильнее до или после? ⠀ Все зависит от времени, усилий и того, какое топливо вы предпочитаете. ⠀ Если предположить, что с прошлого вечера вы ничего не ели, уровень глюкозы в организме - топлива, которое ваши мышцы используют для энергии - довольно низок. Возможно, вы сможете легко сделать небольшую тренировку. Но если вы планируете бегать более 60 минут или делать интенсивную тренировку на полностью пустой желудок, вы можете почувствовать себя вялым, уставшим или даже ощутить головокружение. ⠀ Бег без адекватного топлива повышает уровень гормона стресса кортизола в вашем организме, который может временно подавить иммунную систему и сделать более восприимчивым к заболеванию. ⠀ Если вы пытаетесь сбросить вес бегая на голодный желудок, то скорее всего из-за низкого энергопотребления вы можете бежать не так интенсивно и долго. А после пробежки ваш метаболизм может замедлиться из-за полу-голодного состояния.
