Aw shit I was afraid of this!
So I've been in R&D and T&A mode here in downtown Las Vegas, all day. Scouting out potential spots for my downtown tour and creating a route. I figured this tour would be maybe 2 hours at most. Nope! This is gonna be 3 hours easily! Or more. There's too much here. Unlike the strip, downtown isn't a straight line on one road. There's a lot of zig-zaggin here.
Now, I figure 1/3 of the tour is easily gonna be street art since there's so much of it everywhere and the art scene is a growing thing here. Another third of the tour is gonna be good food spots because one thing the mafia brought to Vegas was the Prime Rib special and every hotel down here has them. The last third of the tour will be the best hidden spots of each hotel. There's already two or three that I'll probably skip because there's not much going on in them.
Eventually, I can see this as a $60 tour which is where my Vegas Strip tour is headed.
But I love my job! All I've done today is try new food, walk around and get lost! Just asking hotel associates and managers where all the good stuff is and they point me in the right direction!
Next step is to contact a few people in marketing and a few GMs and finalize my route. Still have about four more spots in downtown to scout.
