Day 17 - I am elevated by coffee in the mornings, and gogo juice in the afternoons.
For the last 2 years, if I needed to get something done, the mornings have been the time I found. Whether it was for a workout, time with the Lord, or now teaching, those were the only extra hours I could make work. But I know in the beginning, it can be hard to get yourself out of bed to do the things! So here are some tips that helped me!
⏰Get your alarm out of arms reach. Put it on the floor or even across the room. And if you have a spouse that will be disturbed by this, great, it will make you move faster!
⏰Get your insides and outsides going as soon as possible. Have a glass of water by the bed and drink it asap, and then GET OUT of the bed. Don't lay there and scroll, check email, or messages. That's not doing you any good first thing!
⏰Think about your why before bed and have a reward in mind! Why are you getting up at the crack of dawn? Does time with the Lord give you more peace? Does a workout give you energy to get through the day? Is it to help provide for your family? Why is it worth it? And it also helps me to have a tiny reward in mind in those early hours. Can I read for a bit after work? Have coffee with a friend? Or maybe plan for a nap sometime in the near future? Whatever it is, those tiny things can be big motivators!
Just remember this, you don't have to go from 7 to 4 am in a night. Just start getting up 15 min earlier and do something intentional with that time! What tips do you have for getting going? 👇
