Tonya Coty was very depressed, disgusted with her body, on multiple meds, and could barely walk from her front door to the mailbox without getting winded. When the doctor told her if she didn't do something that she was going to become insulin dependent, she knew she had challenges to face up to. Tonya then started her journey with a Disney 5k, which she walked - but she finished it.
Tonya started going to the gym more even though I wanted to give up most of the time. She made daily goals that she continues with this day, including being able to do several full pushups at a time. (She’s currently SO close to her ultimate goal of pullups!) To help her make and push forward those goals, Tonya used a few different programs on BodyFit, including ones by Jim Stoppani and Lee Labrada. She also relied on her gym for trainers and support, and in particular her friend and trainer Jaymee Wallace who nudged her to try dance fitness and zumba classes. She relied on JYM supplements, as well as all natural vitamins to help give her that extra oomph.
Tonya feels very passionate about moving forward. She advises, “No matter how tired or when soreness kicks in don't give up. Find a good trainer and gym that will support you through your health journey. You'll want to give up but having that support will encourage and push you.”
Tonya continues to train and work with Jaymee and loves taking her dance classes. She also has started training for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Challenge which consists of a 5k, 10k, ½ and a full marathon that takes place in January 2021.
